How could I lose you? (I couldn't lose you)

Summary:

Ash has to get the medicine for Haiper.

He has to. He had to.

Even if he has to die a thousand times.

Notes:

Q!NEWRON IS PRETTY IMPLIED... so is q!ashwron

also sorry if they're OOC...im kinda new to newron,, hii.. im new gen... sorry if nexe is OOC, i really love him and i'd hate for him to be OOC.

Work Text:

To say that Ash was having a horrible day was to say the least, in fact- it’d be an understatement-

He was, of course, happy to see Haiper and Tubbo again, catching up with them… even if they had argued for a little while for minor disagreements, everything was sorted out at the end.

Now…

What the fuck was the situation about Ewron about?

He got told that the man had called him his boyfriend on court, for some unknown reason? He was pissed off, honestly:

Him and Ewron were supposed to be a secret, something that the rest of the server wouldn’t- shouldn’t- know about, and the imbecile just said that in front of the whole server?

He, of course- confronted Ewron about it and the man just kept on avoiding the theme, over and over and over again.

Ash was getting tired, really. But at the end of the day he and Ewron sorted it out, kinda.

If Ewron had done it to protect Tubbo, then Ash didn’t care that much.

He was still angry about what he had said on court, very much so. He was still pissed off about it, but it wasn’t like he could do much about it, right?

That’s beside the point… now he had to talk with Katie to see what to do with her joining The Regime. He knew she and Ewron had some sort of rivalry, he explained Ewron that he would maintain a neutral ground but that if anything happened, he would be with him.

Not like that mattered when Ewron found out that Katie joined The Regime, of course not.

Ewron had made a big deal out of it, as usual- Ash had tried to explain it to him, that he still wouldn’t choose Katie over him, that their goals were more important than anything else he had planned.

But Ewron left- and what hurt Ash the most, what made him reconsider whether this was worth it or not-

‘’Juan was right about you, The North was right about you.’’

It didn’t make him as angry as it should’ve been, really. He felt… empty, almost. He didn’t feel anything was he watched Ewron boat away, all he could say as he watched him leave was-

‘’He’ll come back… eventually.’’

He didn’t come back.

Ash tried to look for him for the rest of the day, to at least talk- but that idiot of Ewron just seemed to avoid him every damn time.

It was stressing him out, it didn’t help the fact that people keep trying to talk to him and he was just getting stuck on conversation after conversation.

At the end of the day, Ash simply decided to deal with this another day.

That asshole wouldn’t talk to him, too stubborn- too stubborn to actually listen to him, to hear him out.

Ash still couldn’t believe that he wasn’t angry- but worried about what he could’ve possibly destroyed today.

‘’You care about him.’’

…Haiper was right, but he wouldn’t admit that in a million years. Not right now, not after that stunt that the bastard had pulled on him.

Calling him boyfriend on court, denying the fact only to not hear him out on his plans- when he was trying to be honest with him- leaving him, and saying that he was just like what The North had said he was?

What does that mean.

Not that it matters right now… really.

Not like he cares anyways.

He had to do something about Haiper’s sickness, this was his priority right now, get some sort of cure for Haiper- if what Ewron had told him was true…

(He shouldn’t even be considering that man’s words at this point, but he still can’t help but trust him.)

Haiper was affected with some type of radiation from the nuclear ware Multi had, since Haiper went to do some spy work there because the poor boy was scared of what the polish could do.

Ash thinks that this could’ve been his fault, maybe if he had told Haiper and Tubbo- Haiper wouldn’t feel that scared to go and investigate by himself-

Maybe if he was competent leader, maybe if he was a good leader, maybe… maybe-

Maybe if he was a good friend, a good brother.

Ash groaned, he felt like his heart was about to burst into a million pieces by how fast it was beating- he was just so… stressed out. So angry, so upset.

His feelings didn’t matter right now, he had to see a way to get Haiper’s cure, now.

He doesn’t care how far he has to go.

If he was to die a thousand times, then so be it.

He’d do whatever for The Regime, and if that means… dying.

He’ll do it without a second thought.

────────

Tomorrow was a new day.

He had managed to get a time to talk with Multi, in private. Ash received mixed signals from the way Multi replied, but the other man still seemed very excited about meeting him, so he didn’t care that much.

He would get Haiper’s cure… and by what Multi had told him…

He knows exactly what Multi would want from him, even if it will bring nothing but pain.

At least the idea of what he could give Multi in return of the cure was just painful.

‘’So, Ashswag.’’ Multi started, tilting his head- curious. ‘’Are we finally working together, after you’ve ignored my request for so long?’’

Ash stayed silent, awfully silent- he felt a knot on his throat as if he couldn’t speak properly, he felt a massive weight down on his shoulders.

‘’I…’’ Ash finally spoke, but his voice felt small, he almost puked at the sound of his own voice before he continued. ‘’I want to…’’

He could either lie or be direct.

But he already had a plan.

‘’Would you… give me the cure to the radiation, if I let you experiment on me.’’

Everything was quiet suddenly, but Ash felt how a cold- unfamiliar- terrified shiver on his back as a manic grin appeared on Multi’s face.

What the fuck.

‘’Is this about Haiper?’’ Multi asked, but it seemed like more of a rhetorical question rather than anything.

Ash couldn’t bring himself to speak for a while, he gulped- he felt unsure, and that terrified him, he had never felt this way before, he never…

He never experienced this before, this level of vulnerability in front of someone he knows that he shouldn’t trust.

He told him not to.

But… if this helps Haiper…

If this saves Haiper.

‘’…Yes. You can do whatever, just… get Haiper the cure.’’

This was going to be a horrible idea, wasn’t it?

But it was too late for regrets.

────────

Ash wishes that he could take back what he had said.

Not because he regrets helping Haiper, of course not- but Multi was leading him to another place, isolated.

Ash knew that he had agreed on letting Multi do experimentation with him, but he didn’t know how far the other man would go- just how much he would do.

He expects to get killed, of course- Multi had been yapping all the way to that secluded place of how he’d get his ADN to possibly create some clone…

Some weird shit, that much Ash will tell you.

Still, nothing that Ash felt before compared to the unnerving feeling of when Multi told him to set a spawn inside of a cage with reinforced glass.

He had to do this-

He had to, he had to, he had to, hehadtohehadtohehadtohehadto-

[Respawn point set.]

‘’Good! Now, now, why don’t we see how someone like you reacts to death, I will say, I am very interested…’’

Fuck- he was already regretting this.

There was no turning back.

Even as Ash felt how his chest was tightening with the unfamiliar feeling of fear, he couldn’t truly bring himself to fight back.

Not when this could help Haiper get some sort of cure.

Ash noted that seemed like a room that was already prepared, if the reinforced glass wasn’t proof enough- but when doing the glitch where he could see all around him…

Systems of droppers surrounded the room.

….

How far can a man go to save those he considers beloved?

‘’Step ahead a little…’’ Multi requested, even if it sounded more like a demand- Ash nodded.

Lava dropped, and he felt how it burned him from the inside out, he didn’t scream as he got completely surrounded by lava.

[ ashswagg tried to swim in lava ]

Confusion seemed to flood the chat, especially from Haiper and Tubbo- but Ash couldn’t bring himself to see the chat, not really.

The moment he died, the system of the room made the lava disappear. Ash respawned.

‘’Your ADN is truly interesting, Ash… how about we run a few more tests?’’

Ash nodded.

Water filled the room, and he felt how the air on his lungs got pulled and ripped.

[ ashswagg drowned ]

‘’Mhm, you do have similar structure to a human, you’ve got lungs….’’ Multi noted, and Ash couldn’t help but feel sick at the way he was being treated like a mere experiment.

…But… this is what he was right now, wasn’t he?

‘’Let’s run a few more!’’

High heights, explosions, anvil….

How… long until this ended?

How long until Multi is satisfied.

Ash simply felt like he was getting played with, and he was getting… angry.

…Not that he could do anything about it. Not right now.

Everything hurt, everything hurt so bad.

It felt like his body was being torn apart, the glitches surrounding his body intensified as a way of a defense mechanism, to hide his pain- but it never seemed to work.

────────

The rest of the server was, obviously, confused when seeing Ash out of all people die multiple times.

Tubbo and Haiper specifically panicked, especially Haiper- who felt useless when he was unable to track down Ash in any way.

It was overall a weird… situation.

A worrying one.

Ash just came back- and now he was dying over and over again?

Just… what was happening.

Maybe he got kidnapped by the federation? That could be a possibility.

Everyone kept on sending messages on chat, asking Ash where he was- or sending whispers to the man, but it all remained unanswered.

And as much Ash wasn’t allied with the rest of islanders- they all did agree that the federation was their common enemy, that they would put their differences down to help whoever needed it, if it was the federation who was terrorizing them.

But the fact that none of them- even Tubbo and Haiper- received a reply was worrying.

The only two people that weren’t present on the meeting were Multi, Luzu, Alondrissa and Aldo.

Another death message appeared.

‘’Okay.’’ Haiper started, his voice tense- ‘’I’m already really sick of this, did any of you see Ash today?’’

‘’I only saw him when he logged on, he was walking around The Regime and we talked for a little while- after that he just… disappeared.’’  Tubbo said, confusion clear on his voice.

‘’Well, that’s just not possible, he’s not like that.’’ Fit stated, the people that weren’t from The Regime looked at him with confusion. ‘’He usually tells us all the plans he has, so for him to disappear like this…’’

‘’It’s weird.’’ Tubbo added.

‘’W-well…’’ Tina made a pause before continuing. ‘’What if he got kidnapped by the federation? I mean… why else would he…’’

‘’That makes sense…’’ Foolish said ‘’But how could he out of all people get kidnapped- he’s the most careful person I know! He’d never just get caught like that.’’

‘’Maybe they teleported him to a place?’’ Haiper requested.

The area stayed silent for a while, none of them really knew what could’ve happened, not really.

And besides that- why would the federation torture him specifically?

Ewron was the only one that stayed eerily silent throught all the meeting. No one noticed-

Expect Nexe and Haiper.

After the meeting ended, Haiper called out to Nexe- the dog immediately stopped on his tracks.

‘’Haiper?’’ Nexe tilted his head- both confusion and worry- before Haiper could respond, Nexe asked. ‘’How’s your sickness going?’’

‘’I- uh. It’s…’’ Haiper trailed off, clearly not wanting to talk about it, at least not right now. But if he wanted to get a cure, he needed to talk to Nexe. ‘’I’ve been getting a bit… hungrier lately- but that’s beside the point!’’

‘’Do you know what was happening with Ewron that meeting? I noticed that he was… weirdly silent.’’

Nexe winced, rubbing the back of his neck, as if complementing whether to tell Haiper or not- this was a private matter (or so he thought)

‘’I know you and him know each other very well.’’ Haiper let that implication on the air, not minding the almost perplexed look Nexe gave him. ‘’So, tell me- why was he acting so… weird.’’

‘’Ah well.’’ Nexe started, pausing a bit. ‘’I suppose you know that him and Ash argued a lot yesterday, right?’’

Haiper nodded. ‘’Ash told me about it… why?’’

‘’Ewron didn’t want to come to this meeting at first.’’ Nexe revealed, and Haiper immediately felt confused.

‘’What- why? I knew it was bad but…’’

‘’He just didn’t believe that Ash out of all people would die that many times…’’

‘’…Why?’’ Haiper asked again, still confused about Ewron’s train of thought.

‘’I don’t know, alright! Even I am confused about how he thinks sometimes he’s…’’ There was a pause, before Nexe continued. ‘’He’s a special case, alright. Don’t know what’s up with him.’’

Haiper nodded in agreement moments before. ‘’Yeah, he’s a bit intense, isn’t he?’’

‘’A bit of a drama queen.’’ Nexe corrected, and Haiper couldn’t hold back the laugh that escaped him.

‘’He is certainly dramatic.’’

They both were silent, before Haiper spoke again.

‘’So, what now?’’

‘’I’ll talk to him, alright? I might… have an idea of what happened.’’

Haiper frowned, but when he saw the genuine nervousness on Nexe’s face, he simply let it go.

‘’Tell me about it later, okay?’’

Nexe simply nodded, as he opened chat- seemingly asking Ewron where he was, before he left Haiper.

He was so glad Haiper didn’t push the theme, or conversation about Multi’s reactor.

────────

‘’Ewron!’’ Nexe called out to him- not minding how the tension seemed to disappear from Ewron as soon as he heard his voice.

‘’Nexe!’’ Ewron exclaimed happily, as he ran off to where his ‘friend’ was, and before Ewron could speak again.

‘’Are you… okay, bro? I mean. With the Ash situation…’’ Nexe trailed off, his eyes going anywhere but Ewron, he felt uncomfortable- but he couldn’t let Haiper down.

Ewron’s expression immediately darkened, and his body became tense again. ‘’Don’t talk to me about that traitor.’’

‘’Ewron, c’mon! I know you care about him, so why pretend- ‘’

‘’I do not care about traitors like him.’’

‘’Did you even let him speak to you back then?’’

Ewron looked offended- even if he knew that he didn’t let Ash speak, he still felt very offended about what Nexe was saying to him. ‘’Why would I let him speak to me after he betrayed me like that?’’

‘’Well, he asked me if I could speak to you about this.’’

The room stayed silent, Ewron looked perplexed- confused- for a second, before he continued.

‘’Wait- he did?’’

‘’Yes. He was trying to speak to you for a long while yesterday.’’

Ewron stayed silent for a while, stuttering something that was unintelligible before speaking again. ‘’Well he still betrayed me so- ‘’

‘’Oh for god’s sake Ewron! Stop pretending like you don’t care, I saw you at that meeting, you were tenser than ever. I’ve never seen you like that before.’’

Ewron ducked his head down, almost embarrassed.

Nexe sighed, giving Ewron an apologetic look. ‘’Look. I’m sorry for… lashing out like that, alright? But…’’

‘’I think we both know what could’ve happened to Ash, right?’’

Ewron thought about it for a while, wasn’t it the main suspect just the federation, who else could it…

Oh.

‘’Where’s Multi, Nexe.’’

Nexe didn’t respond for a while, his ears pressed to the back of his head. ‘’I… don’t know.’’

‘’…I’ll go find him.’’

‘’Please be careful.’’ Nexe asked, and Ewron simply nodded.

(Ewron’s worst fear ended up becoming a reality, and the fact that it might’ve been his fault- his fault only…)

────────

The pain already became numb by this point for Ash.

He looked at his hand, how it trembled- he could faintly hear how Multi told him what would come next, and to be prepared.

…At least he was giving out warnings now.

‘’I must say Ash,’’ Multi started- this was the happiest he had ever heard him sound, Ash noted- ‘’You’re handling this quite well! Most people would’ve been screaming… crying to be let go. But you’re strangely compliant.’’

Ash glared at him, and Multi simply gave him a sickly warm smile. ‘’You’ve been experimented on before, haven’t you?’’

Ash whole body jolted- tense.

‘’Mhm, makes sense.’’ Multi commented, but didn’t push the theme further. Not for now, not today.

Ash almost let out a sigh of relief, that relief didn’t last long as the dispenser dropped splash potions of instant damage- then regeneration.

Ten bottles of regeneration. More bottles of instant damage than he could count, then it was dark again.

Then the blurry sight of the room he was at, and Multi.

How long until Multi is satisfied… surely, he isn’t trying every type of death on him, right?

‘’Okay, you’re doing amazing Ash! Just a few more and I’ll be just done with my studies- ‘’

‘’You already got my ADN, didn’t you?’’ Multi stopped on his tracks at the accusatory tone of Ash’s voice.

He simply smiled. ‘’Smart as ever, aren’t you?’’

Ash glared at him, or attempted to. Ash’s felt like he was going to pass out at any second.

‘’I won’t be satisfied until I know every single thing of how someone like you works, Ash.’’ Multi declared, pacing outside of the glass. ‘’So far you’ve shown many humans traits, was this glitch of yours always part of you, tell me.’’

Ash didn’t answer, and Multi’s gaze darkened. ‘’I guess I’ll figure it out myself.’’

Ash closed his eyes, leaning to the wall of the room. Multi stopped for a second, reconsidering.

‘’I’ll give you a break, okay?’’

Ash murmured an unintelligible thank you.

And then he was left alone, with his own thoughts.

He swears he hears footsteps near him.

Being left alone felt worse than getting literally tortured, especially in a room like this- white, pure white- it looked just like how the federation builds he had seen.

The only think that could bring him comfort was imagining this was the pantheon, that he was talking with Tubbo and Haiper about some dumb plan for The Regime.

Footsteps, sounds of mobs- unfamiliar sounds- and a place that he didn’t know.

How nice is that.

(He kept on ignoring every single message he got, he couldn’t think clearly. He had to get the cure for Haiper he just… had to.)

Ash didn’t notice the way he was digging his claws into his palm, neither the way blood was pouring down his palms into the bed.

It was only for today, that was the deal.

Ash felt how blood dripped into the blank sheets of the bed, and yet he didn’t retract his claws.

How far can someone go for someone they care about?

Ash didn’t want Haiper to die, and he won’t let him die.

He swears on it.

He’ll save Haiper, he…

His eyes felt heavy…

────────

It felt like Ewron had been looking for hours. And certainly, he was.

Every passing second, every minute, every hour that he couldn’t manage to get a clue of where the hell Ash and Multi were at felt like a thousand stabs to his heart.

Just where the fuck was he.

He felt how a knot on his throat formed, becoming harder to ignore which each thought he had.

He hadn’t seen a death message in a while- a good while.

Maybe Multi finally let Ash go?  He hopes so…

No, why does he care? That bastard betrayed him.

Okay maybe he did care a little, maybe he did miss the little talks they had on boats, maybe he did miss meeting him on the middle of the ocean.

Maybe he did miss him.

No, no, no. I’m just being stupid. Ewron told himself. He isn’t trustworthy, none of them are, expect Nexe.

He messaged Ash.

‘’Where are you.’’

No reply.

‘’Where the fuck are you.’’

No response.

‘’Please, where are you?’’

He didn’t receive a message.

…Fuck. He felt like he was about to throw up.

He immediately got into looking, he couldn’t waste any time.

Maybe he could find Ash on the way, and… probably pretend like he never cared at all. Act as if he was never looking for him even as he sent multiple messages asking for his location.

He only hoped that Multi finally let go off Ash, he hoped that Ash was doing okay now.

Because as much he doesn’t want to admit- the last thing he wanted from all of this, is for Ash to end up getting hurt.

He could bear the thought of Ash getting hurt, or even the possibility.

And the fact that he couldn’t do anything to stop it.

He felt sick to his stomach only thinking about it.

The only think that calmed him down is the fact that Ash was probably free right now-

[ ashswagg was skewered by a falling stalactite. ]

…Or not.

He began to run again, almost tripping multiple times.

The fact that the weather- despite being night- was so nice pissed him off, why while Ash was suffering? Why while…

….

He had to find him.

Right now.

────────

Nexe had come back to The Regime, looking for Haiper before spotting him talking with Tubbo.

‘’He… went looking for him.’’

‘’Ewron?’’ Both Tubbo and Haiper asked at the same time, a bit perplexed, Nexe nodded.

‘’Yeah, he’s near the Polish Cave, you know where that is.’’

The factory was silent for a while, before Haiper spoke.

‘’I’ll follow him.’’ He declared, both Tubbo and Nexe froze up.

‘’Wait- isn’t that dangerous? I mean… we aren’t exactly on good terms with Ewron… none of us are after…’’

‘’I’ll be fine, trust me. I’ll go invis.’’ Haiper reassured Tubbo, the other person still seemed pretty unsure.

‘’If you do follow him, just be careful, alright? He’s… very sensible right now.’’ Nexe paused, before continuing. ‘’He really cares about him, y’know?’’

‘’You really do know him better than anyone else, huh?’’ Haiper teased, Nexe simply frowned before sighing.
‘’Just be careful.’’

Silence filled the factory again, before Tubbo spoke up.

‘’Well- if Haiper is going, then so I am!’’ Haiper immediately jolted at those words, turning to look at Tubbo.

‘’Tubbo, no. It’s too dangerous.’’

‘’But I want to help Ash- I can also go invis and follow Ewron with you!’’

‘’He’ll kill you if he finds out.’’

‘’You wouldn’t let him.’’ Tubbo retorted, already knowing that he won the ‘’argument’’

Haiper was silent for a while, before he let out a small laugh. ‘’Touché.’’

Haiper tossed Tubbo a few invis potions, and some swiftness potions too.

‘’Good luck you two!’’ Nexe said, before the two co-founders of The Regime left.

It wasn’t too long before they found him, he seemed to be monologuing to himself out loud… as usual.

‘’You go on top of trees, I’ll follow on ground.’’ Haiper whispered, and Tubbo did a sound of agreement.

And off they went.

────────

It had been multiple hours by now, Ash couldn’t bring himself to care.

At least he got some rest before Multi came back again, some time to think.

‘’How long until…’’

‘’Just two more! Don’t worry, it’ll be all over soon.’’

Ash let out a shuddered breath, before nodding. ‘’You’ll give me the cure for Haiper after this, right?’’

‘’I wouldn’t like to break a promise with you.’’

Ash let out a shaky laughed, but it lacked humor. ‘’You’re a smart man, Multi.’’

‘’They me something I don’t know.’’

‘’Is there anything you don’t know?’’

Multi smiled, tilting his head. He clicked a switch, and a firework was shot.

[ ashswagg went off with a bang ]

Deaths didn’t feel painful anymore.

They just felt like a passing feeling of shock, a numb feeling.

‘’What did you find out about me?’’ Ash asked, Multi hummed in response, as if considering whether to reply or not.

‘’Your glitches work according your emotions, you’re mostly human, the horns you have? Hah… aren’t real, are they?’’ Ash nodded in response, Multi seemed satisfied. ‘’You weren’t born with these.’’

These glitches.

Ash stood still, before nodding again. He felt small, and he hated it, he hated it so much.

‘’Hey, don’t worry. It will be all over soon!’’ Multi reassured him, or tried to, it felt more like a mock to his situation.

‘’And tell me…’’ Multi suddenly started, his tone shifting. ‘’Why did no one come looking for you, mhm?’’

Ash froze on his spot.

‘’I… They are looking for me, they’ve been sending me messages.’’

‘’But no one actually tried to look for you, did they now?’’

‘’…Stop saying dumb stuff.’’

‘’Is the truth dumb?’’

You’re saying some bullshit, Ash thought, but he ended up keeping it to himself.
‘’You know Ash, even with how much you infuriate me for driving Ewron away from us,’’ Multi paced outside of the room, before stopping and looking at Ash. ‘’You’re the most fascinating person I’ve ever seen.’’

Ash almost gagged- disgusted- Multi by now could tell every micro-expression of Ash and he laughed at his reaction. ‘’I don’t mean it that way, don’t worry.’’

‘’Thank god…’’ Ash sighed, relieved, and Multi couldn’t help but laugh again.

‘’You’re a funny guy, Ash. Only if you were with us and not with The Regime.’’ Multi paused, taking in the indignant look that Ash gave him with amusement. ‘’You’re better than them, and you know it. That’s why I asked for your help initially…’’

Ash frowned, he felt disgusted with every word that came out of Multi’s mouth.

‘’And now… you are helping me. Just not on the way I was expecting.’’

(Ash could see a nametag from afar, but he couldn’t tell who exactly it was- someone was near.)

‘’But hey, I can’t complain! The fact I get to do this to you it’s a privilege on itself.’’

(Ash reloaded the chunks, he saw two figures. Two of them familiar yet he couldn’t make them out on the state he was at.)

‘’Now, now. Let’s get to our last test- ‘’

Someone arrived- Ash noted...

No. Two people.

Someone was on invis.

‘’Multi.’’ A familiar voice hissed- Ewron- ‘’What the fuck are you doing.’’

‘’Ewron!’’ Multi exclaimed, both happy and scared. Moving out of the way to let the other man have a look of what was happening.

(Multi knew that Haiper was here as well, the detector went off the second the artic fox entered the room.)

‘’Isn’t this great, Ewron?’’

‘’No.’’ Ewron’s voice came out weak.

‘’Ah, a shame we aren’t on the same page, dear friend.’’

‘’Why did you involve him into this shit?’’

‘’Me? He was the one that reached out to me to get Haiper his cure.’’

The room felt tense all of the sudden. A chocked noise was heard, anguished of a certain artic fox.

(Ash realized that Haiper was here… was Haiper fine? Was he doing okay?)

‘’That…’’ Ewron seemed speechless, his gaze turning to Ash. Who seemed to be out of it, barely any glitches on his body, only the ones on his face were still prominent. ‘’…Why.’’

‘’I already told you, didn’t I, Ewron? He cares about them…’’ Multi sighed, walking towards the glass, watching Ash. ‘‘Isn’t it funny, how soft he is?’’

‘’He would rather die than let them suffer.’’

Multi turned around to face Ewron, and he was met with a blade.

‘’Let him go.’’

Multi gave him an incredulous look, before smiling and turning out a switch again.

Wither potions.

Ash didn’t even react, not really. He only jolted as he felt the effects of that potion, as it slowly drained the life off him.
Ewron watched stunned, the grip on his sword faltering ever so slightly. He couldn’t move, not when Ash was dying in front of him.

[ ashswagg whithered away ]

Ash respawned.

And barely a few seconds after, the sound of a mace was heard.

Ewron didn’t even register it.

[ Youngmulti was destroyed by HaiperEXE with [BREACH] ]

Shortly after, Ash felt how he went out of consciousness, finally giving up to the exhaustion.

Last thing he saw? Poor, young Tubbo and Haiper- with Tubbo breaking the reinforced glass blocks, someone helping him up.

Haiper and Tubbo talking, while Ewron stole the medicine from Multi’s body and handed it to Haiper before disappearing.

Why was Ewron here?

Was one of the last things Ash thought before fully blacking out and deciding to get some rest.

He didn’t regret anything that he did today, even with how painful it was.

Haiper was going to be okay, he was going to be fine.

A leader should always look forward the well-being of their underlings, right?

(Ash knows that no normal leader would go to this extreme. No normal leader would sacrifice they own life. Multiple times, for an underling.)

What an eventful day.

20 deaths in one day.

How fun is that?

Well, the full body pain he will probably feel for the rest of the month certainly wouldn’t be fun.

But Haiper is finally safe again.
