Lumine let out a light, quiet groan as she woke up, she glanced at Dottore who's still sleeping soundly, this was probably the first time Lumine has ever woken up before him.
He’s an early bird who always wakes up at 6:30 sharp, well until today.
Lumine got out of bed and tiptoed to his side of the bed so that she didn't disturb him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
Alright, Dottore is sleeping and he was drunk last night so I should make him some yummy breakfast.
*Time Skip to Lumine finished cooking the food (yes I'm lazy rn)
“Hmm? Ah Lumine is cooking food” Dottore yawned whilst stretching.
He reached for his bird-like mask and fixed it on his face but then he took it off because he quickly realised that he was on a “rest” day, no matter how much he wanted to work Lumine wouldn't let him and he would never try to go against Lumine's word ever.
“Oh I see you are awake Dottore!!!”.
“I made breakfast for you and since it's your rest day we should go take a walk” Lumine eagerly announced.
“I see that you have taken a more Sumerian approach with breakfast” Dottore observed the Ajilenakh cake whilst Lumine placed a plate of Pita Pockets in front of Dottore.
“Here’s some coffee. I made it slightly bitter but if you want a sweeter taste there's sugar on the table” Lumine gestured towards the sugar dispenser.
*The couple ate and talked about their plan for today
“I quite enjoyed today's breakfast dear, whilst I liked the Pita Pockets the most, all the food you made were very delicious and filling” Dottore commented.
“Aww I'm glad you liked it Dotto” Lumine lightly blushed at Dottore’s compliment, he has always loved her cooking and sometimes would cook for her but he always says that it's never as good as her cooking.
“Alright, I will wash the dishes since you made the food” Dottore said, he snapped his fingers and in an instant all the dishes that were on that table were washed and organised in the cupboards.
Dottore walked to Lumine, held his hand in hers and within a snap from his fingers they were outside in a park, basking in its glow.
*The not so young but youthful couple walked around the park and talked but it was mostly Dottore rambling about his research, since most of the time they are away from each other and are currently busy with their lives so it was a nice way for them to catch up
They took a break from walking and sat on a bench.
“The weather is quite pleasant isn't it Lumine?”
“Yes it’s perfect, the wind is present but it isn't too windy and it is warm but not hot” Lumine replied, her head resting on Dottore’s shoulder.
“Ah nowadays we don't spend much time together, today made me think that even if we are busy with our own lives it wouldn't hurt for either of us to visit the other” Lumine purred.
“I believe in what you are saying my songbird we don't get to spend much time with each other, it can't hurt for me to visit, maybe even join your travels” Dottore agreed with Lumine’s suggestion.
“It's nice to get outside, you get to breathe fresh air and you should also stop pushing yourself whilst working.
It is what led to your rest day but I did really enjoy today” Lumine criticised Dottore's work/life balance.
They both stargazed at the dark night sky as the day has been a good reset day, for both of them.
