   Summary

   Teenage detective Kirigiri Kyoko is among the lucky few given the opportunity to attend Hope’s Peak Academy - the most prestigious high school in all of Japan. Leaving her troubled past behind, she and her new-found friends resolve to build a brighter future, for themselves and the whole world.

   Alas, the cruel hand of fate has other plans. Upon returning from summer vacation, they find themselves imprisoned inside the academy and subjected to the bizarre whims of a homicidal cartoon bear, who has only one question for them:
