Summary
Prince Sonic was never known for his calm demeanour. From bemoaning his name (“Why did my siblings get cool short names, and I get ‘Nicholas’? It makes me sound so pretentious!”), to skipping Royal Council meetings, to trying to escape the kingdom for the third time this week (and it’s only Tuesday), he was never where he was supposed to be -- but somehow, he was always safe.
Not due to caution -- heaven forbid. No, it was thanks to his personal knight, Sir “Mighty”, who nobody really... knows. Nobody's ever seen his face, and Mighty is definitely not his real name. It was known once, albeit quickly forgotten. Knights and soldiers aren't exactly... *memorable* here. Yet unlike the prince, Mighty was the definition of steady: not reckless, not short-tempered, not clumsy. Where Sonic was fast and impulsive, Mighty was strong and composed. Wildly different, yet inseperable.
For Mighty, being Sonic’s guardian was everything. Sonic was *his* everything.
He dreaded the thought of losing that role. But after a freak incident leaves Mighty presumed dead and Sonic a wanted felon, everything changes.
With hope all but gone, can the prince still be the light he once was?
