You Again.

Summary:

Mic patches Taco up and then they talk and reunite after years.
A continuation of my western au, but you dont need to read that to read this!
I would recommend it though, it provides a bit more context.
If you want more short stories like this, please request it in my request page.

Work Text:

Mic led Taco down a surprisingly clean hallway, given the dusty desert outside, to a small room with a bench, a chair, and cabinets lining the walls. She sat Taco down on the bench, and began rummaging through the cabinets. Eventually, she found a roll of bandages, some antiseptic, and a cloth to apply it with. She pulled up the chair and sat down in front of Taco.

"Okay, take your bowtie off." (A/N abandon me? Her invisibow? How COULD she???)
Taco fumbled with the know for a few seconds, her right hand, the one that got cut by Paintbrush's knife, was not cooperating, and she was fairly sure the wound had started bleeding again. Mic sighed, and brushed her clumsy fingers away, expertly untying it.

She probed the flesh of Taco's shoulder with a finger she cleaned in the antiseptic.

"It needs some stitches. Unbutton your shirt. I assume you have something on under it?" Taco nodded, and began fumbling with the buttons. Mic saw the clumsy motions of her fingers, and gently guided each button out of it's spot, her hand brushing Taco's and making a faint color rise in her cheeks. Eventually, she got the whole thing undone and had Taco slide her left arm out, before soaking the blood-encrusted right side with water and peeling it off, leaving Taco sitting there in a thin tank top.

Mic hesitated a bit, then grabbed a knife and cut the upper right part of the tank off, exposing the wound. Both Taco and her blushed at the large amont of skin exposed.

"Alright, im gonna clean it, stitch it up, and bandage it. I... i guess you can hold onto my hand or shirt or something. If it hurts and grabbing onto something helps." She poured a bit of antiseptic onto the cloth and began to clean the cut. Taco death gripped a fistful of her grey shirt as Mic poured more disinfectant on the cloth and began to clean the deepest areas of the slice.

Eventually, the whole area was disinfected, and Mic thereaded a needle and began to push it in and out of Taco's flesh. She began to grip Mic's shirt tighter, wrinkling the fabric. Mic tied the last knot in the thread with a sigh.

"Its done," she said, and began to bandage the area before finding someone's old shirt in one of the cabinets and tossing it to Taco. Once she had gotten the shirt on, with much struggle, Mic sat down next to Taco with a sigh.

They sat for a minute or two like that, before Taco worked up the courage to slip her hand into Mic's. Mic would never admit it, but she rather missed holding hands with her partner.

"Listen, i... im sorry i was such a jerk to you and i shouldnt have left you like that and you were, and still are the best thing in my life and i was an idiot to not see it earlier." Mic blinked in suprise at Taco's sudden deluge of information.

"Its okay.. i... i still love you so much and not a day goes by that i dont regret just listening to you." Taco smiled at Mic, who returned the gesture.

"I love you, Mic."

"I love you too, Taco."
