Klek and Khn had just finished up another live performance. It was fun, They did not understand all of the words the humans were shouting but they could tell they were happy, and that is all that matters. Even though they had been on earth for quite some time, they still find humans strange. But humans are wonderful, even with all of their bizarre traits. They got back home to their spaceship, which they converted into a house. It was a nice house, it had many small pyramids made of various materials, and one of those little hot dog carts, among other human artifacts.
Khn took off his hat and set it on a small table by the door. Klek left his shoes under the table.
Khn: "Sponk glorp snackth gleepus glib yee?" (What glorious human cuisine shall we dine on today my friend?)
Klek: "Sploooooink hottus doggus? Zoop Zeep Sheep" (Perhaps hot dogs? They are my favorite.)
Khn: "Wibble wobble honk honk gip gip." (Great idea! they are my favorite as well!)
And so they took some ingredients out of the pantry (their pantry is actually a sideways shopping cart attached to the wall) and fridge. They laid the ingredients out on the counter for quick access, and started preparing their meal. Khn turned on the stove and added a little butter in the pan, melting it before putting a few hot dogs inside to cook. Klek started preparing four buns (one for each hot dog). He put a slice of American cheese and a little mayonnaise on two, and on the other two he spread a tiny bit of peanut butter and jelly (Do not judge them please, they're still learning). Now they just had to wait for the hot dogs to finish cooking. Klek walked up to the pan and flipped them, making sure all sides would be evenly cooked. Khn stared at him strangely.
Klek: "Gleep glorp glib gleep? Burble clonk clink?" (My friend, what is wrong?)
Khn: "Qenk splorrrrk zeep." (I am thinking.)
Klek: "Jlonkus splork glibble?" (Of what?)
Khn: "Chorp chorp kelpk ship shop, Gleebus?" (Humans are quite friendly with each other, aren't they?)
Khn flips the hot dogs again. They will be done soon.
Klek: "Glup glup." (Yes, quite.)
A few seconds pass. Neither of them say anything because they are thinking about humans, and also are distracted by the delicious smell of hot dogs. Then, Khn sets down the spatula on the edge of the pan, steps closer to Klek, and gives him a hug, which is a little awkward since Klek is so tall. But they make it work, Khn leans against Klek and puts his nose over his shoulder (Khn’s nose is definitely NOT flexible, so this is probably the best way to do it). Klek is confused for a moment as he isn’t accustomed to human displays of affection, but quickly hugs back.
Khn: “Hummus geeble weevil boink.” (Humans do this to their friends.)
Klek: “Kaoo rempth hummus spoingus.” (It is pleasant.)
Khn: “Wibbles weeig” (I much agree.)
They stay like that for a little bit, Klek moves one of his arms to flip hot dogs before putting it back around Khn. They stay like that for another few seconds before Khn withdraws slightly so he can look Klek in the eye (which is actually pretty easy since Klek’s eyes are in his mouth). He moved one arm up to the back of Klek’s neck to pull him a little closer, and kisses him like he had read a description of what a kiss was but had never actually seen it done or attempted it. Klek had an amazing view of the inside of Khn’s mouth. Fortunately Khn brushes and flosses his teeth every day so they are clean and not terrible to look at. It lasted a good few seconds. Afterwards, Klek looked somewhat confused.
Klek: “Honk Splong shorp heep hummus ip oop?” (Another traditional human gesture of affection?)
Khn: “Gleep.” (Yes.)
Klek: “Goob jeep jop beep beep bing... quak ank gop gloib ring.” (They were both very enjoyable… I think I enjoyed this one more. It was odd getting such a close view of your tongue though.)
Khn: “Spoing sponge geeb” (I enjoyed it as well.)
The hot dogs were done by now. They took them out of the pan and put them into their buns. They then each took two hot dogs and sat down on their couch while they ate them. They were some good hot dogs.
