Summary
Ikoku Irokoi Romantan, or "Tale Of A Foreign Love Affair", is ©Ayano Yamane. I am taking liberties with the behaviours of these characters.
This non-canon fanfic takes place after the manga ends (yes, I've also seen the OVA). Ranmaru and Al still see each other when they can. Ranmaru and Kaoru are still (unlovingly) married. She has borne him a son, Ryuki, and allowed Al to be one of the "uncles." She does like Al, but she also wants to exploit his connection with the Oumis for her own benefit, his accepted offers to the family not being enough for her. She doesn't realise that Al (and Ranmaru's father) is aware of this, but his mutual affections for Ranmuru and Ryuki are keeping him from taking the firm actions against this that he wants to, and besides one of Ranmaru's duties is keeping her "where she belongs".
Will Al's unwavering love and support be enough to help the new father continue to manage his relationships and responsibilities?
And how will all of this affect Ryuki?
