Work Text:

You fidgeted with your hands, feeling antsy.

Where was she? Lisa should've been here by now. You were already anxious about messing up on your first day; your new boss being nowhere to be found only made things worse.

Were you too early? You were positive that you had the right time. If that's not the case, that would be slightly embarrassing... But it just goes to show how serious you were about this job, right?

You felt like you should be doing something, but you didn't want to start without permission. As you had nothing else to do, you immediately spotted the mint green haired man who entered.

Whoever this man was, he was real pretty... You couldn't help but stare.

Embarrassment seized you when the man noticed your gaze. You quickly looked away, hoping that would be the end of it.

No such luck. You heard the approach of footsteps and unwillingly directed your attention towards them.

"Who are you? Haven't seen you around before." The man asked, eyes assessing you.

Oh god, he better stop looking at you like that. You're going to combust otherwise.

You managed to stammer out an answer. "Oh, I'm Lisa's new assistant!"

You mentally slapped yourself. You just had to stutter in front of such an attractive guy.

"Is that so?"

"Yeah!" You tried to maintain eye contact but had to look away with how intensely he was staring at you. "Um, may I ask who you are?" You tried to keep your voice even but it came out as more of a squeak.

You wish you could just crawl into a hole and never come out.

"I'm Lohen, Vice Captain of the Ranged Company. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." Lohen reached out for your hand and planted a kiss on your knuckles.

That's it, you're doomed. This man is going to be the death of you.

"Ah, right. Forgot what I came here for. Is Lisa not here?"

You shook your head. "I'm not sure where she is. I'm actually waiting for her right now."

"Well, could you give her these? I'm supposed to deliver these papers to her." Lohen held said papers up for you to see.

"Oh, no problem! I can do that!" You smiled nervously.

"Much appreciated." Lohen flashed a charming smile.

He had no right to be this pretty.

"Here you go." Lohen passed the papers over to you. As he did so, your fingers brushed against each other. You bit your lip in an attempt to not make any strange noises.

Sure, he was wearing gloves. The exchange still got you flustered regardless.

"Well, I'd best be going. Farewell, little librarian. May we meet again." Lohen did a little bow before making his way out of the library.

"Yeah, see you around..." you said in a daze.

You stared into space, utterly dumbstruck.

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry for being late!"

You quickly pulled yourself together; you recognized that voice.

"Lisa, there you are!" Relief washed over your face.

"I apologize for making you wait. I got held up with some business." Lisa said sincerely.

You smiled at her. "Oh, that's alright! Just glad you're here now."

"By the way, I passed Lohen on my way here. Did he want something?"

At the mention of Lohen's name, you felt your face heat up.

Lisa fixed you with a curious look. "Are you alright, cutie? Your face is rather red. If you're feeling unwell, you didn't have to show up today."

"Oh, no, no, I'm fine!" You shook your head vigorously.

"Oh, I see how it is." Lisa chuckled, looking quite amused.

You couldn't understand what was up with her change in demeanour, but you didn't have much time to dwell on it.

"Well then, shall we get to work?" Lisa asked.

You straightened up. "Yes, ma'am!"
