Work Text:
Deep in a forest, a deity wandered around, the absence of their friend made them looked for comfort in their creation, the forest, their favorite creation.
The winds murmured softly, making their head wings sway as they walk around the forest, bugs ran around near their legs, birds chirps from branches.
From all the bugs around them, Aster noticed a beetle clinging to a tree, they turns toward the bug and they quicken their pace. they crouched down near the beetle, not close enough that it will scared the beetle off, but close enough to see the beetle's details.
Aster gently offered their hand to the bug, the bug cautiously stepped onto their hand, a little hesitant but still stepped on anyways.
The bug is now clinging onto Aster's hand, Aster carefully observe the bug from their hand, careful not to scare the bug away.
With the bug clinging to their hand, Aster just started walking again, they had no exact place to go, just walking through the forest they've seen hundreds of times.
looking around them, they started to get familiar with the path they're taking --well, more familiar-- the path are leading to their favorite place.
Aster knows they shouldn't be caught just walking around, they are a deity, they made this world, who knows when they would be caught walking around blooming flowers and then be worshipped--well, they know, they are a deity, and it will not be happening soon.
Aster knows they arent suppose to be here walking around and interacting with their creation. after their friend left them, they had gone pretty lonely, so they just decided to go check out their creations, which they love very much.
a sound of a branch snapping interrupted Aster's train of thoughts, the beetle on their hand flew away, their head wings immediately covered their face, and their multiple wings spread out from their back, they whipped their head toward the sound--"Rivulet?" Aster questioned, then immediately covering their mouth with both of their hands, Fuck.
The hybrid's head tilts slightly to their right, curious about the deity, "How do you know my name? What are you?" They asked.
The deity lower their wings, "It's... it's a long story. What are you even doing here?" The deity asked, taking a step forward.
"I should be asking that question, why are you doing here?" She asked defensively
Aster goes blank for a second--no one has ever talked to them like that. "Oh--yea, i guess that make sense. I'm just wandering around." Aster folded their wings neatly behind them, leaving their head wings covering their face.
Rivu sat down across from them, looking serious "Now, answer my first question; how do you know my name?"
Aster considers a reply then decided to not answer, they cross their arms "not answering that" they shook their head.
Rivu sighed, "then, what's your name? And If you also wont answer that, I'm leaving, 'cause i need to catch some rabbit for Gale or he'll 'report' me to Basalt." She mutters, an annoyed expression etched on her face.
The deity crouched down to her level, "Aster. And, i could help you with that, only if you want to of course." Aster offered, they gently offered their right hand.
The hybrid put her hand(or paw) on their hand "Rivulet, but i suppose you already know." She chuckled
Aster chuckled back "yea. So how many rabbits do you need?" They asked
Rivulet thinks for a second, "atleast 2 rabbits, but it'll be better of theres more."
The deity stood up, their wings balancing them from falling "Okay, let's go catch some, then" Aster started walking
Rivu nodded then followed behind.
