Chapter Text
You'd always find it funny when people gush over mythical creatures. Well, you get it. The thought of beings that have animalistic powers with unreal beauty has always been an exciting topic. But it was also important to keep these thoughts imaginative. You were a firm believer of "If you haven't seen it, you won't believe it." You're not a pessimist, though, just realistic. The lack of paranormal experience in your 17 years of living has allowed you to remain apathetic to such legends. That is, until, you felt hands grab on to your legs from the floor of your bedroom, dragging you down to a deep black hole.
"What.. are you.?"
You soon came back to your senses, finding yourself in an old abandoned house. You shot up, quickly checking yourself for any oddities. You sighed to yourself in relief. Aside from the mind-splitting headache, you weren't doing all too bad. You carefully began to look around, finding the house especially odd. The ash overpowered the dust on the furniture and a distinct smell of charred wood filled your senses. You stand up from the floor, muttering to yourself about a possible kidnapping through the floor of your own house as you dust yourself off.
"Nobody kidnapped you."
You quickly turned your head to the man, leaning on the doorway. You slowly took a step back, staring at the man skeptically. He dawned a grey long sleeve, paired with black jeans. He wore an aloof expression as he observed you, calculating what move you might pull. Your face resembled that of a fish, trying to sputter out any word you can as your mouth closed and opened.
"How did I get here then?"
"You just appeared on my property."
"Where is this?"
"Beacon Hills."
"Area..?"
"Beacon County?"
"Sorry can you get more general?"
"North of San Francisco."
"NorCal? This is like... 12 hours away from my place..."
You scratch your cheek as you stare at him. You walked past him, trying to brush off the weird feeling settling in your stomach. Not butterflies— impending doom is closer to what it felt like. As you reached, what seemed to be the door to leave, you hear a boy your age yelling.
"DEREK! DEREK! DEREK"
You open the door to check it out, not noticing the man following behind. The boy looked at you with confusion mixed with anger in his eyes, trying to connect the dots. You quickly realize that the man you had just met's name is Derek. And that the weather was not exactly fitting for a tank top and shorts. You quickly hugged yourself in an attempt to warm yourself, trying to hide back into the house as it was way more important to stay warm than worry about a possible kidnapping. However, you quickly bump into Derek, sending the wrong message towards the boy yelling.
"You FUCKING THIRSTY DOUCHEBAG! You're targeting highschoolers now huh? Well, STAY AWAY FROM HER!"
"her..?"
You muttered out, failing to notice that Derek is guiding you back inside to talk to the boy himself. You scratch your head in confusion as Derek closes the door, putting his full attention on to him. Muffled sounds of the boy's aggressive yells and Derek's seemingly nonchalant composure somehow signalled for you to leave.
"Everything falls-"
The door slams open with a girl quickly running out. The two watch as she slowly disappeared into the forest with inhumane speed.
"Did you.. kidnap her..?"
The boy panted out, appearing visibly panicked as he backed away. He didn't notice that Derek had already disappeared, though. With another miscommunication, Derek Hale's reputation has reached the negatives. The boy quickly biked away in an attempt to catch up to the girl.
With your adrenaline pumping, you soon ended up in the middle of a road. You finally felt like breathing, the tiredness in your legs soon becoming apparent. You sigh to yourself as you began to walk, dreading the miles you'd have to treck. In the cold. With BARELY any clothes to keep yourself warm.
"WAIT!"
You hear the same boy from earlier yelling, his voice becoming louder as he came closer. You see him drop his bike on to the ground as he emerged from the forest. Your body seemed to move on its own as you backed away from him, attempting to create distance.
"Wait.. Who.. Are you.. Are you.. OKAY?"
He panted out as he tried to shorten the distance between you two. You looked at him suspiciously as you continued to back away from him.
"You answer my question first. Who are you?"
"Scott McCall OK?! Let's calm down please. Don't run away I'll call my friend over to come pick you up."
You finally stopped inching away from him, liking the idea of not walking in the cold.
After Scott's brief and frantic phone call with his friend named Stiles, you and your new friend sat on the side of the road with his bike on the side. He murmured something about how the wait shouldn't be too long as he shoved his phone back into his pocket. You were still hugging yourself, trying to warm yourself up as you stare at your bare feet.
"So... You never answered my question."
"Oh.. My bad. My name's—"
BEEP BEEP
You were quickly interrupted as a blue jeep came into view. Scott quickly picked up his bike as you stood up, still clutching onto yourself.
"That was pretty quick."
You said to no one in particular as the jeep stopped right next to you and the boy. His friend rolled the windows down as he looked at Scott, and then back at you a few times, shock written all over his face. After a few minutes of staring and dragging his hands down his face in exasperation, Scott finally yelled at him to open the door.
"Dude.. come here real quick."
"What?"
"ᴄᴏᴍᴇ ʜᴇʀᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ғᴜᴄᴋɪɴɢ-"
The girl watched as Scott went over to the other side of the jeep, curiosity written all over her face as she rubbed her arms. The two boys began to talk (more like whisper scream at each other), completely forgetting about her.
"dude.. are you fucking Chuck Bartowski* or something? The girl's hot and everything but this was Derek's hostage! Why the hell do you keep on ending up in weird ass-"
"What the- who even is that? Dude. Just help me out, ok? Drive this girl to my house and we'll question her ourselves. Trust me I'll tell you everything."
The boy quickly ended the conversation, patting the door of the jeep as he ran to his bike. Stiles combed his hair through his buzz cut as he signalled the girl to come inside, his irritation prominent on his face. The girl quickly entered the car, unable to handle the cold air any longer. Stiles looked at her up and down, realizing the state she was in.
"Oh god- What the fuck- Did Scott not give you anything?"
He began to ramble as he took off his jacket and passing it over to her, apologizing for his friend's stupidity.
"No.. It's chill. Thank you though."
The girl smiled at him as she slipped into his jacket. Stiles began to stumble over his words, his face flushing as he started the engine.
"So... What's your.. uh.. name?"
You quickly introduce yourself, sitting up in an attempt to seem less rude.
"I'm sorry for making your jeep dirty, by the way. I don't even know how I ended up there.."
"Oh no- nono it's fine. I got it. I gotcha. There’s been dirtier things there."
The girl took note of his awkwardness as silence fell, making the drive seeming painfully long. As Stiles internally beat himself up, the girl looked out the window in deep thought.
'I NEED to get out of here.'
