Okay so basically I’m assuming you’ve read what’s on my Unvale. I’ll move it all eventually but I don’t wannaaaaaa 3: Anyways, the event that got Gabriel ousted was whoopsie! Withdrawing angelic forces near the beginning of World War II!! Leading to the Holocaust as well as the formation and success of the Manhattan Project, and therefore nuclear armaments. Do you see why people don’t fucking like him. Atticus and Mary were a soldier and a nurse, respectively. Atticus lost his leg to trench foot, and Mary was the one to amputate. He proposed after the war ended and they got married immediately. Atticus was newly disabled, and Mary was his caretaker, so they weaseled their way out of serving on the force again. At least as soldiers. Mary still operated as a spy for most of the war. Listening over radios and codebreaking, things she could do from home. She’s a transwoman, and needless to say things weren’t great for her in that time period. She was only able to medically transition because she was an angel and had a bit more acceptance there. A lot of her ideas of womanhood, and therefore her identity, are wrapped around being a housewife through most of the 20th century. So yeah she has shit to work through.
Also here I’ll say that while I cannot reference drugs on Unvale, they are important. Wow take that outta context. Azrun’s drugs of choice are painkillers of any sort. Beelzebub’s were opiates, especially heroin, but the only substance he’s allowed to consume now is caffeine. Oleander does psychedelics. I haven’t gotten around to mentioning Gabriel’s drug addiction since it ties in closely with the stuff I mentioned before. He extorts Atticus for prescription meds. Threatening to dock his pay, fire him, cut his patients, triple his patients, whatever.
Also also. Azrun and Beelzebub cannibalized demons a lot. And ate people and angels. Azrun took to fermenting cerebrospinal fluid into a fucked up “wine”. I’m not gonna SAY it’s what he’s drinking whenever he’s holding a glass. But he’s holding a glass a lot. Oki bai :3
