Summary
Memory slips back along with faint threads of feeling. There's a familiar hand pressed against Thjazi’s back, a warm weight up against his front, and the soft sounds of sleeping people on the mattress beside him, their breaths out of tandem with his own.
Thjazi stays in place for a long moment, letting things settle back into his brain before he opens his eyes. It’s good that he does so, because the moment he sees Aranessa, the tears begin to well up all over again. He has to fight fiercely not to let them fall just yet, more for the sake of letting her rest than any particular hangup about stoicism. She’s gloriously naked, her hair mussed and frizzed up like an abandoned bird's nest. Her legs are tangled through Thjazi’s, but her head is tilted away - resting trustingly on the shoulder of an equally naked and slumbering Julien Davinos.
Huh. Apparently, that part wasn’t a dream either.
