Chapter Text
It's raining. The sun is still high and bright in the sky, but it's still raining. It always does on this day.
The water drops fall as if to greet the adorable blond boy with bright pink multicoloured eyes, wishing him a happy birthday. The boy runs around the wet sand holding his hand, merry laughter from both of them echoing around.
He pulls the birthday boy towards him to grab onto his other hand, with a tight grip he starts to spin them around. The laughter grows as the boy's wet strands fly against the wind, his grin so big and eyes so unbelievably big and bright. He can feel his heart beat louder as he stares into them, soaking in the rare rain and the presence of his favourite person.
Boom-boom
He could feel the water drip down the side of his head, sticking the black strands of his hair to his skin. As if he was really there.
Boom-boom
As if he was still on his home planet.
Boom-Beep
As if… He didn't betray that big smile.
Beep-Beep
As if… the boy was still alive.
BEEP-BEEP
Sugilite wakes up with a gasp. He lays there to try and calm his breathing. Staring at the white ceiling over him.

He knows he needs to get up, go to work. He's a Stoneheart, he can't afford to laze around in bed.
“Kakavasha…” he whispers, not for the first time in over a decade.
He has to get up. Today he has to meet the so-called “New Aventurine” Jade has been talking about since yesterday when the investigation on the death of the former one was discovered.
