“Then Daeron will stay here for his heat,” his father said. “Yes, father,” Valarr said, somehow both distressed and placated at that. Close enough to smell, he thought. Close enough to smell anybody helping him through his heat too though.
He’d survive it, he thought as he bid his goodbyes to his father and uncle. He would. How hard could it be?
