Summary
Poor Clyde, alone, in shock, and split into two.
He's clinging on to his last bit of life, but he doesn't look fully there. Like he's dreaming with his eyes open.
The picture isn't all sad though. It causes an ache in Easterman's stomach, but in a way it's beautiful. Clyde's final act of devotion to Easterman, dying while hunting the rat that's been ruining his work. It's only fair if Easterman in turn shows Clyde how devoted to him he is as well, just as pathetically, just as vulnerable.
