Caine:
Sexuality, Gender, Self Expression:
- Aro-Ace
- As he’s curious about EVERYTHING about humans [like programmed] he is intrigued by sexuality, sex, and gender
- He doesn’t quite understand it’s taboo, but also kind of does?
- He understands it’s not “family friendly” but asks relatively invasive questions to circus members because “they’re adults”. He stops immediately whenever someone tells him to, though.
- Absolutely NONE of it is malicious though, it’s all genuine curiosity and intrigue
- This particularly bugged Zooble in the beginning, but they grew used to his questions and it was clear he never asked out of malice.
- They actually started to enjoy teaching him more and discussing with Caine, one of the rare times they got along
- He’d love to have a romantic relationship, but he doesn’t experience attraction for anyone, and would probably grow bored quickly
- He has no definitive “gender”, being an AI
- He does usually go by he/it
Mental Health/Emotions:
- As he’s become more aware, he’s started to feel “bad” emotions and he has NO clue how to handle them
- Craves validation like an addict, to the point where it’s interfering severely with his programming
- Very clingy, dependent attachment style
- Social cues are very hard for him to interpret— he’s learned, but it’s still hard for him
- Seems a bit hyperactive because he literally doesn’t get tired
Additional:
- He does really care about everyone in the circus— at least, he initially did
- His independence and lack of control caused him to develop more, but now a bunch of his functions can be extremely faulty
- He tries to listen to the circus members, but whenever one of their requests goes against his programming, he glitches out if he even attempts to fulfill it, or if he “thinks” about it too much
- Why he glitched at Zooble’s request— he literally couldn’t really compute it as it went against his family-friendly programming. While he is able to learn about humans and such, he cannot handle requests such as those
- Has bypassed his own programming in the past, but it made him glitch out a bunch— he tries to avoid it now
- He has trouble paying attention
- He's self conscious and insecure.
- He doesn't want anyone to make a better adventure than him
- All he wants is a purpose [most of those were pretty much canon I just wanted to put them down]
- He loves bees so much he made a bee adventure for them. Ragatha was not a fan.
- If he was ever stung by a bee, he’d probably glitch out or abstract immediately, out of a sense of deep betrayal.
- Nobody has bothered to tell Caine bees die when they sting, and he never searched for that information, so he’s blissfully unaware
