Even a few weeks after joining the party of travelers on their way out from Victor’s Hollow, Scruffles, as his new name was, still enjoyed his alone time at night.
He would wander away from the campsite— no need to worry about getting lost, he would be able to see the fire— and look around whatever area they had moved to.
Occasionally, he would encounter monsters, but they usually weren’t too much of a challenge. A hatchling in the Cliftlands, a spider in the Sunlands… they were no big deal.
Scruffles had grown much stronger since these kind travelers had helped him.
He had been attacked by a tree— he hadn’t known that was possible— and limped into a bush to hide.
But that was then, and now, Scruffles was fierce and strong now! He could fight anything.
He wanted to protect his new people, and he would, with everything he had.
