Summary
Midoriya Izuku has always been written off as weird. As if it's not bad enough to be the quirkless weakling, he has to be the weird quirkless weakling on top of it.
But truthfully, the "weird" part is the only part that's accurate. He's determined not to be a weakling, and in spite of what it says on paper, he's not actually quirkless. Even before meeting All-Might and taking on the power of One For All, Izuku isn't quirkless.
Not that anyone would believe it if he told them.

I thought this fic couldn't possibly live up to the hype and the numbers it made. It fucking does. HOLY SHIT.

to date, this is THE longest fic i have EVER read, by quite a large margin at that. when i started it, i didn't intend to read the whole thing. i thought i'd get a quarter of the way at most, if it was good enough, and i thought that was a generous estimate. i just don't read long fics. more like, i can't, usually. i lose interest if the story goes on too long. but i was curious. and curiosity quickly turned into fascination, and before long, i was hooked and fully invested. by all means, i should've lost interest, based on past experience - not to mention, this story drags out the timeline quite a bit, only ranging from the start of 'season one' to the end of the shie hassaikai arc. but it delves into izu's past a lot and adds a whole bunch of other stuff that definitely didn't happen in the original in between everything else. and everything happened differently. but it remained interesting throughout. i did end up taking a break, but i finished it in the end after all.
brilliant characterization and dialogue. just utterly brilliant, so well done, i'm honestly jealous. there were so many parts that i re-read repeatedly to really absorb the punch. and great writing all around. it's profound and prolific and potent and pensive and nearly perfect. the whole range of human emotion.
rei is wonderful. i appreciate nana and tensei a lot as well. and hino was a great addition. all of the ghosts were great characters. rei is obviously my favorite though. plus eri. fuckin eri, man. i have such a soft spot for her. her inclusion and role in this fic was excellent.
there are so many utterly fascinating avenues and ideas to think about in conjunction with this story. i know i'll continue to have lots of thoughts about it. the best stories always make you keep thinking even after they're over.
