Chapter Text

The rain tapped gently against the window of Yesod’s cottage, soft and steady, like the world had decided to hush itself for the evening.

Yesod stood by the stove, pretending to be very invested in stirring the tea. In reality, he was trying not to look at Netzach — who was currently sprawled across his sofa as if he owned the place.

“Hey, ” Yesod called. “You’re getting crumbs everywhere.”
Netzach glanced down at the biscuit in his hand and then grinned. “They’re your biscuits. So technically, they’re your crumbs.”

Yesod slightly rolled his eyes. “That’s not how it works...”

After a while, Netzach suddenly sat up, stretching his arms wide. “Yesoooood....C’mere...”

“I am not a dog you can summon with a whistle.”

“i didn’t whistle,” Netzach pointed out cheerfully. “i used my words...”

Yesod sighed and rolled his eyes a bit. but he still walked over. He always did.
The moment he was within reach, Netzach grabbed him by the waist and tugged him down onto the sofa with a delighted laugh. Yesod let out an undignified yelp as he landed half on Alfred’s chest.
“You—!”

Netzach just wrapped his arms around him and squeezed.

And that was the end of Yesod’s protest.
Because Netzach’s hugs were unfair. They were warm, solid and safe. His arms circled Yesod completely, one hand splayed comfortably at his lower back, the other rubbing slow circles

“You’re cold,” Netzach murmured.

“Im not.”

“You are,Your hands are freezing...”

Yesod tried to protest, but Netzach captured one of those allegedly freezing hands and brought it to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to Yesod’s knuckles.

Yesod’s face immediately went scarlet.

“N-Netzach...!”

“What...?” Netzach said innocently — and then kissed his fingers again, slower this time.
Yesod’s breath caught. The rain seemed louder somehow, or maybe it was just his heart.

“You’re ridiculous,” Yesod muttered,
He leaned down and kissed him.
It was gentle at first — just lips brushing, testing — but Netzach made a soft, pleased sound and tilted his head, deepening it. One hand slid up into Yesod’s purple hair, careful but possessive, holding him close.

Yesod melted.
He melted right into Netzach’s chest, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as the kiss grew softer again, slower. When they finally parted, neither of them moved far.

Netzach rested his forehead against Yesod’s.

“Stay,” he murmured.

Yesod huffed quietly. “I wasn’t planning on going anywhere.”

Netzach beamed — and then promptly pulled Arthur fully into his lap, wrapping both arms around him like a human blanket.

“You’re clingy,” Yesod said.

“You love it...”

Yesod did not answer.
Instead, he tucked his face into Netzach’s chest.

Netzach pressed a kiss into Yesod’s hair. Then another...then one at his temple...and then one just at the corner of his mouth, slow and sweet.

Yesod responded by turning his head and kissing him properly this time — soft and lingering, his hand sliding up to cup Netzach’s cheek.

The rain kept falling.

Netzach traced lazy patterns along Yesod’s back. Yesod absentmindedly played with the hem of Netzach’s sleeve. Every so often one of them would lean up for another kiss — unhurried, affectionate, like they had all the time in the world.

“You’re staying the night.” Yesod murmured eventually.

“Was planning on it.”

“In the guest room.”

Netzach squeezed him tighter. “Mmm...Can’t. Guest room’s too far away from youuuu....”

Yesod let's out a soft chuckle

Netzach kissed him once more —slow and warm and full of something deeper than teasing this time.
Yesod answered just as gently.

And when Netzach pulled him closer, Yesod let himself be held — fingers lacing into the back of Netzach’s shirt, heart steady and content.

Outside, the rain fell.

Inside, they stayed wrapped around each other, trading soft kisses and quieter words, until even Yesod stopped pretending he wasn’t perfectly, hopelessly in love.
