You must travel to the United States, seek for the end of a Long Island and peace will find you” She had never heard this voice before but it felt so familiar, when Elie woke up from the strange dream she wrote everything down on her phone, to remember it correctly. After searching in an atlas for roughly 5 minutes she found what the voice must’ve meant. Long Island in New York, it was in a completely different continent than her. Was this just a normal dream? It didn’t feel like that, this dream was completely different than every other dream she’s ever had. This one felt.. real. She decided to ask her dad for permission to go on a trip to NYC for the summer break, after school.
Somehow he approved it. He had some work thing he had in New York, what a great coincidence..
Summer break rolled around and they stayed in a hotel in NYC, the third day of their trip in the middle of the night Elie snuck out with her luggage to the busy streets of New York. She managed to hitchhike her way to Long island, avoiding every creep on the way.
She was dropped off 2 kilometers away from her destination and walked in the early sunrise, when she heard a growl behind her and a ginormous hellhound stood behind her, waiting for a feast. She ran all she could, ran up the half-blood hill and down towards the strawberry fields. She tripped on the soil in the fields and looked back expecting to be eaten by a giant dog when she noticed the magic force that kept the hellhound outside, out of reach as it clawed to get in.
The adrenaline started to wear out until she noticed a pack of camp kids in orange T-shirts staring at her and rushing to see who just tumbled into their strawberry field. Someone shouted for Chiron, Elie knew a bit of Greek mythology and knew that Chiron was a centaur, but nothing could have prepared her for the half stallion, half man that came galloping towards her. She passed out with her face mushed in the strawberries.
"She kinda looks like you, Annabeth" “Shut up seaweed brain” was the first thing she heard when waking up.
