Summary:

Shisui admires his wife

Work Text:

**

The city lights of Konoha shimmered like a scattered handful of diamonds across the sprawling metropolis, painting abstract patterns on the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Uchiha penthouse. Inside, the quiet hum of the high-rise apartment was occasionally punctuated by the distant wail of a siren – a stark reminder of the bustling world outside that Sakura Haruno navigated daily.

Sakura sighed, kicking off her sensible, yet stylish, designer heels near the entrance. The subtle scent of antiseptic clung faintly to her, a testament to another grueling but ultimately rewarding day at Konoha General. She tossed her expensive leather satchel onto the polished credenza, letting out a soft groan as she stretched her back, the silk blouse she wore clinging slightly to her frame. Her usually meticulously styled pink hair, though still vibrant, had escaped a few pins, framing her tired but still radiant face.

“Rough day, doc?” A smooth, baritone voice drifted from the living room, laced with a familiar warmth that instantly soothed her frayed nerves.

Sakura smiled, a genuine, weary smile. "You could say that, Shisui. Code blue, followed by a tricky emergency appendectomy, then a consult that ran an hour over. I think my brain is trying to shut down."

Shisui Uchiha, looking impossibly put-together even after what she knew must have been a similarly demanding day at Uchiha Corp, emerged from the living room. He was dressed in a charcoal grey suit, the jacket now discarded, his crisp white shirt slightly unbuttoned at the collar. His dark hair was impeccably styled, and his onyx eyes, usually alight with a playful glint, held a tender concern as he watched her.

He walked over, his movements fluid and purposeful, and gathered her into a gentle embrace. The scent of his subtle, expensive cologne, a mix of cedar and citrus, enveloped her, instantly calming the last vestiges of hospital stress. "Sounds like you earned a quiet evening, then. I was just about to order takeout. Your pick."

Sakura melted into his arms, resting her head against his shoulder. "Thai sounds divine. Spicy, please. I need to feel alive again." She chuckled softly, but then straightened, pulling away just enough to look at him. "You look good. Big meeting today?"

Shisui ran a hand through his hair, a small, charmingly self-deprecating smile playing on his lips. "Only the future of the Uchiha financial empire. Nothing major. But I managed to secure the investment for Project Nightingale, so mission accomplished."

"Project Nightingale?" Sakura raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "That's the AI-driven medical diagnostic software, isn't it? The one that integrates patient data from multiple sources for early disease detection?"

Shisui nodded, his eyes sparkling with a mix of pride and admiration for her instant understanding. "The very same. Our projections show it could revolutionize preventative care. Think of the lives it could save, Sakura."

"Shisui, that's incredible!" Her exhaustion seemed to momentarily vanish, replaced by genuine excitement. This was one of the things she loved about him – his vision, his drive, his desire to use his immense talents for good. She reached up, giving his cheek a tender squeeze. "You're amazing."

He leaned into her touch, his gaze softening, but then it intensified, sweeping over her in a way that made her pulse quicken. It wasn't just admiration; it was something deeper, more elemental. His eyes, usually so expressive, seemed to pierce through her fatigue, seeing something else entirely.

"You know," Shisui began, his voice a low, thoughtful murmur, "when I tell people my wife is Dr. Uchiha, the chief of surgery at Konoha General, I see the respect in their eyes. The admiration. They hear 'doctor,' they hear 'genius surgeon,' and they think of your incredible skill, your intellect, your unwavering dedication." He paused, his thumb tracing the delicate curve of her jawline. "But they don't see what I see."

Sakura blinked, a blush creeping up her neck. "Oh?" she managed, a little breathlessly.

He stepped back slightly, pulling her with him until they were standing in front of the large living room window, the cityscape stretching out behind them. He took her hands, his touch warm and firm. "They don't see the way your pink hair, usually so meticulously pinned up, falls in soft waves around your shoulders when you finally relax. They don't see the slight smudge of ink on your temple from reviewing charts, a mark of your diligence. They don't see the subtle tension in your shoulders from carrying the weight of someone's life in your hands all day."

His eyes dropped to her silk blouse, tracing the line of her collarbone. "They certainly don't see how that sensible, professional blouse you wear suddenly becomes... almost provocatively alluring when you're just being *you*. The way it hints at the strength beneath, the curve of your muscles that you've honed not for vanity, but for saving lives."

Sakura's blush deepened, her heart hammering a rhythm against her ribs. She usually felt competent, intelligent, perhaps even attractive in a conventional sense. But Shisui's gaze, his words, painted a different picture, one that was far more intimate and intense. He wasn't just seeing her beauty; he was seeing her *sexiness*, in a way that intertwined her competence and power with her physical form.

"Shisui," she whispered, her voice a little shaky.

He squeezed her hands gently, his gaze unwavering. "And when you stretch, like you did just now, the way your spine arches, the subtle flex of your back muscles… It’s not just a gesture of exhaustion. It's a display of raw, feminine power. The kind that reminds me that the woman who can command an operating room with absolute authority is also the woman who can unravel me with a single glance."

He stepped closer, his voice dropping to a near whisper, sending shivers down her spine. "Every day, you walk through that door, tired, perhaps a little stressed, and every single day, without fail, I look at you and I think: 'How did I get so damn lucky?' You're not just beautiful, Sakura. You're fiercely intelligent, incomparably kind, resilient beyond measure, and utterly, unequivocally… sexy."

He reached out, his fingers gently pushing a stray lock of pink hair behind her ear, his touch lingering on her neck. "It's the way your eyes, even when tired, hold that spark of brilliance. It's the way your lips, usually pressed into a professional line, soften into that genuine, weary smile for me. It's the confidence you carry, born of saving lives, that makes every movement you make captivating."

He leaned down, his breath warm against her ear. "It’s the quiet strength, the subtle defiance in your spirit, the passion you pour into everything you do. That’s what makes you so incredibly desirable. It’s not just the doctor; it’s the woman. My woman."

Sakura’s breath hitched. She wrapped her arms around his waist, pulling him impossibly closer. His words weren't just compliments; they were a profound acknowledgment, a loving deconstruction of everything he found alluring about her. He saw her, truly saw her, in a way no one else did. He appreciated the totality of her being, not just the parts that were easy to admire.

"You really think all that?" she murmured against his shirt, her own desire stirring, an ember fanned into flame by his intense gaze.

He pulled back just enough to capture her chin, lifting her face so their eyes met. "Every single day, Sakura. And sometimes, like tonight, after a particularly grueling day for both of us, it just hits me harder. You come home, you let your guard down, and that raw, powerful, beautiful essence of you shines through, unadorned. And it takes my breath away."

His thumb stroked her lower lip. "You’re my masterpiece, Sakura. And I'm endlessly grateful to come home to you."

He leaned in, his lips brushing hers, a soft, tender caress that promised more. "Now, about that Thai food… or perhaps we could skip dinner and let me show you just how much I appreciate my sexy, brilliant wife tonight?" he whispered, his eyes glinting mischievously, a deep, possessive warmth burning within their depths.

Sakura’s heart soared. The exhaustion was still there, but now it was overlaid with a thrilling new energy. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down into a deeper, more passionate kiss. "The Thai can wait," she breathed against his lips, her own gaze now mirroring the desire in his. "Definitely wait."

As Shisui scooped her into his arms, carrying her effortlessly towards their bedroom, the city lights outside continued to twinkle, oblivious to the intimate, fervent acknowledgment blooming within the Uchiha penthouse. For Shisui, every curve, every line, every fierce, compassionate thought that made up his wife was a testament to her undeniable allure. And he intended to remind her of that, in every beautiful way he knew how.
