Summary

Matt finds himself missing the days that when he and Jay fought and Jay got physical with him. He thinks its all for laughs and entertaining himself, except for Jay getting particularly harsh with Matt for the first time in years and the tension that had been building under Matt's skin bubbles over. When he feels struck by his best friend who hit so hard he knows there will be bruises, Matt finds his blood is pumping for reasons more than the sharpness of pain.
-“I’m sorry Jay, could you repeat that? I wasn't listening." Matt wasn't even lying to piss him off, this time.
Jay's eyes went wide with anger and the next thing Matt knew he fell back into the piano bench seat, his face stringing from where Jay had slapped him. Jay, still gripping Matt’s arm, twisting it slightly. Matt felt dizzy as he looked up at Jay, still hardly listening.
Again, he silently begged.
