“Ruskin. I want you to bring an important message to the House of Lords’ representative.” Charles Augustus Milverton told his secretary. Ruskin just obediently nodded and took away the envelope. He didn’t leave yet. He knew that his employer wanted to continue.
“And, Ruskin…” Milverton added, but he didn’t need to finish it. Ruskin knew exactly what he wanted to say, but it was too gentle to say it out loud.
Something which was not evil.
“Yes, sir.” Ruskin answered and left the room. The unspoken message echoed in his mind and filled him with warmth.
