Chapter 1
“Guilt”
Specs put his hand under chin to hold his head up, resting his elbow on the window stand.
He watched as the colors of the outside world just… zoomed by. Even though the only thing that separated him from it was a window, even if he tried to slow it down, he couldn't.
He felt like an outsider to it, all these beautiful colors outside the train, having fun. Being happy.
It had been awhile since Specs had last felt that. Happy.
One of his closest friends had apparently gone on a world tour. Maybe if he paid more attention to him before running off with goggles to some strange new town, he would've been able to say goodbye.
As the train came to a stop, Specs started to stand. At least tomorrow he will be able to be somewhere other than this place.
He didn't like it in the Splatlands.
As he stepped out the train, he saw the crowds of people watching as the new Deep cut splatcast went live. Nothing interesting, really.
Specs sighed as he scanned the crowd. Team blue had decided to take a rest day before heading back to Inkopolis square.
Specs didn't really know why he hated being here so much. The city itself was fine…
Maybe it just represented his guilt to him.
As much as he hounded Goggles for leaving on a whim and just saying ‘Im in the Splatlands!:D’ IN THE TEAM GROUP CHAT… He wasn't any better. He didn't say ANYTHING about leaving, actually… to ANYONE.
The rest of Team Blue were practically the only ones who knew he left.
Headphones DID post online that Team Blue was in Splatlands, but he was pretty sure that she posted it as ‘Private’ on accident. That or ‘for followers only’, either way it didn't seem like a lot of people knew where they were.
Rider had reached out to Goggles a few days ago because he wasn't aware of anything that had happened and was concerned, Specs had looked over Goggles's shoulder when he replied to him.
Rider <333
Rider: Hey man, where ARE you??
Goggles: the Splatlands! :33
Rider: What?! Why??????
Goggles: i got hit by a truck :)
…
“Huh…”
Maybe he was just bad at texting…
Although he knew he should've said SOMETHING about leaving, who would he have even said it to?
His only friends were on Team blue for the most part, and growing up, he never had anyone other than them, so he wasn't used to telling people where he was going.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! ITS FRYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS FRYEEEEEEEE-”
Oh shit-
Specs hadn't noticed himself walking near the crowds.
Usually it wasn't too bad, but some of the fans were really loud.
“FRYEEEEEEEE”
This was a little over the top, though, all things considered. Most people had the decency to not…
“GIRL, I FUCKING LOVE YOU!!”
Do whatever that shit was... IN PUBLIC...
“I GOON TO Y-”
Yeah, no, Specs was leaving this area now.
He walked directly into the nearest shop, Ammo Knights.
He greeted Sheldon, “Hello, sir.”
Sheldon nodded at him, “Do you have anything in mind?”
“Huh?” Specs paused before realizing he was in a store, “Oh, right, I'm just… browsing.“
He just didn't want to deal with whatever was going on out there.
