Work Text:
Carl stared at the pancake mix.
It stared back at him.
The time was 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday and surprise, surprise, no-one in their dorm was up, not even Robo who was famous for getting up at stupid-o-clock. However last night, Carl fell asleep super early (10:00 (That is early for a college student thank you very much!)) so he woke up early.
He tried to go back to sleep but his curtains were open in a way that made the sun hit his face and after the fifth time of trying to fix it, he declared himself awake and set to making breakfast.
Today's breakfast: pancakes. One problem, Spidroth used the pancake mix last time and just because she could, she decided to place it on the highest shelf possible, screw her.
Carl looked to his left and saw an old box that was full of old parts Robo needed for their course work. Maybe that would work?
Carl grabbed the box and moved it over the pancake mix. He put one foot on the box and it immediately crumpled under his foot.
Ahh. That didn't work.
Next he grabbed one of Porkins’ loose hoodies and started to use it as a whip, hitting the mixture. Carl held one arm of the hoodie and prepared to whip with the other arm. Carl whipped the pancake mix, unfortunately he hit the top of the pancake mix rather than the bottom and as Carl was taking Physics for an A-level, he could tell you that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. In Layman's terms, the pancake mixture fell backwards on the self and out of Carl's sight.
“Good morning Carl.” Said Robo, entering the kitchen (well it's not really a kitchen but you can cook there and that's all that matters), “What are you doing up so early?”
“Couldn't sleep,” Carl replied as Robo grabbed their laptop and placed it into their laptop bag (Yeah, Robo was fancy like that), “Where are you head’nin’?”
“The library. I find it quite empty and quiet in the morning.” Robo replied, grabbing their coat and opening the door.
“Wait,” Carl said, reluctantly, “Can you grab the pancake mix off the top shelf?”
“Sure.” Said Robo, shrugging their shoulders and grabbing the pancake mix from the top shelf (Gods, Carl hated being small) and putting it in Carl's outstretched hands, “If that's everything, I'll be departing.”
Robo walked out of the door and Carl heard the sound of the keys shutting it as he placed the pancake mix down.
Carl grabbed a bowl out and opened the pancake mix. He stared at the inside of the pancake mix box.
It's fucking empty.
