Work Text:
"I will find you, my dove!"
Keigo smiled. You loved playing hide-and-seek despite your age. He thought it was adorable! And besides, he loved playing with you. The game helped create a bond between you.
It was the only game you played with him. It would have been impossible for him to hate that game. Everything was fine with him as long as he was with you.
He leaned under the table, even though he could clearly see that you weren't there.
"My dove isn't here, but where could she be hiding?"
He raised his voice exaggeratedly, as if he were an actor. He hoped to make you laugh, but it was no use. But he didn't lose his smile.
How could he have? He was spending time with you! Nothing could wipe the smile off his face.
He walked exaggeratedly so you could hear him. He knew you hated being caught off guard. Even though you were playing, he was very careful to take care of you.
The game was supposed to be fun after all!
"Is my dove here?"
He smiled, looking at the living room curtain. Of course you wouldn't be here; he would have seen your feet otherwise. But he drew the curtain anyway.
"No! Of course my dove always finds the best hiding places!"
He searched excessively throughout the entire apartment. He only looked in hiding places where he knew you wouldn't be there initially.
He loved prolonging the game. He didn't want it to end. He was having so much fun!
He smiled as he did another look around the apartment. Where could his sweet dove be hiding? You always found new hiding places!
"My dove loves to play hide and seek."
He spoke as he entered the room. He always made his presence known, even though his footsteps were more than enough. But he had gotten into the habit of speaking for two.
He went to a cupboard and opened it. Victory. You were there, tears in your eyes, your hand over your mouth to keep from making a sound.
He leaned down and gently wiped away your tears. You must have been disappointed to lose. Or perhaps you missed him. He hoped it was the latter.
"Found my dove!"
He smiled triumphantly. Then he took you in his arms and kissed your head. He had won; he certainly deserved a little reward!
"Even though my dove has the best hiding places, I always end up finding her."
