Chapter Text
It was a typical day.. Warm outside, and everyone keeping themselves busy by talking to one another. The new environment they were in was… quite relaxing, for some reason. The orange grass and trees… It felt nearly like home.
Pluggy, however, decided to explore the island instead of talking with the others. It seemed eerie to her, how quiet the forest was. But it was also more annoying than anything… The long, tremendous amounts of trees, how narrow and giant the forest was.. It was all too hard to navigate. “Ugh, I hate forests..” She thought to herself. Then she started to ponder… why was she exploring the forest in the first place? She had no real reason to. “…I should get going now.” She quietly mumbled, turning around as she was about to leave the forest-
“PLUGGY!” A random voice had suddenly called out. “BAH!!-“ Pluggy flinched and swiftly looked back, only to see Yogurt behind her…
“Sorry about that ..” Yogurt apologized sheepishly. “I just saw you wandering around and was curious as to what you were doing! What ARE you doing, anyway?” They tilted their head curiously. “I don’t know either… I just wanted to look around, I guess.” Pluggy responded, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. “Oh,” Yogurt paused “Well, do you mind if I come along?” They asked politely. “I was getting ready to head back, actually…” Pluggy glanced at the grasslands, seeming unusually reluctant on returning there, as if something was gonna happen. “…But if you still wanna come back there with me, sure..” her voice was slightly quieter. Her tone was tense, but she tried not to think about it too much.
Yogurt noticed how Pluggy was acting off, but they weren’t sure if they should bring it up or not.. They decided not to right now, but maybe later. “Sure!..” they replied to Pluggy’s offer, slightly smiling as the two began walking together.
Both of them had been thinking deeply about something on their walk, two different things, yet they both felt concerned. They weren’t exactly sure why they felt this way, like something was dreading upon them, but they should probably do something about it, right? Maybe it was just because they weren’t used to being away from their home in this context, but no.. this felt a lot more serious to them.
It wasn’t long before they made it back to the main area, where everyone else was sitting and chatting. The two had awkwardly decided to split up, since there was nothing else to do, really. Neither of them had the heart to talk about what was going on in their heads.
“I’m an idiot, I should’ve said something back there..” Yogurt thought to themselves “What was she even thinking about, anyways?” Their thoughts seemed endless, like they had so many questions and no answers. But then everything came to a halt, they froze and looked up at the sky. It looked gorgeous, painted pink, orange and blue. It calmed them down, like nothing had happened earlier. Everything seemed okay now.
Yogurt, along with everyone else, felt the same. Like this particular sunset had graced glory upon all of them. It was such a sudden, yet beautiful feeling. The air was much more thick and warm than normal, but it didn’t matter. Everything just felt perfect, too perfect for anyone to care about the worrisome things that are happening. All the imperfections in this world could turn into something ethereal, it felt like.
Then it clicked. Walk Cycle was the one to almost immediately realize that this wasn’t normal. The sky wasn’t usually this color, the air wasn’t usually this humid.. He was scared, but he didn’t know what to do. He just knew he had to do SOMETHING.
But what?
