Chapter Text

Your life has always felt like a bottle of antidepressants. When you first take them, it all goes numb. It goes numb for an uncomfortable amount of time, but you don’t feel that uncomfortableness, thats why you feel empty, but not enough to try and kill yourself.

‚til Hiori Yo had came into the picture.

Hiori had always been the laidback type of guy who could say something so implicated or absurd, but no one would bat an eye, and just laugh it off like a comedy show. He wasn’t popular, and he wasn’t a ‚weirdo‘. He was… The definition of ‚Something‘. However, the two of you had seemed to click instantly. You started talking, hanging out, practicing flash cards for upcoming tests, all that fun stuff.
Normalthings that friends do.

It was fun. For a while. Before he called you to hang out.

“Hiori!“

You called down the street, you were looking for Hiori, but he didn’t exactly specify why he wanted to hang out. He always explains.

„Hiori, would you come out already? I walked five blocks for this..“

You began to walk slower, examining each area of downtown in the small, Japanese, rural area. You crossed your arms over each other, wondering where Hiori could even be at.

You search in the convenient store, he isn‘t there. You look in the park. He isn‘t there either. You go to the soccer field, nothing. It‘s almost like he decided to ghost you and not show up. Still confused, you decide to go back home, pulling out your phone to check if the message was supposed to go to another person instead.

A blood-curdling scream is heard nearby.

The sound of the scream makes you confused, and slightly worried. You quickly text Hiori, putting your phone away afterwards, making your way home. You pass by a few alleyways, avoiding the dark and eerie feeling they gave off. Something of the color Cyan appears in one of the alleys, its close to Hioris hair color.. a little too close. You slowly find yourself to a stop, staring down the alleyway. „Hiori?..“ you whispered to your self, looking around one more time, before going into the alley.

You hear another blood-curdling scream, and its coming from the exact alley that you are in. You could finally make out the silhouette, its definitely Hiori but.. it looks like he‘s holding… a knife..? You hesitate to walk any further now. You don‘t even want to call out to Hiori. The body came into view. It was a deadman, eye still twitching, and flies had already started feeding off of the body. His throat was slit open, and his abdominal section was sliced open, the blood and inner intestines had spilled out. Your eyes widened in panic.

‚What the hell?… what the fuck is Hiori doing?.. Why is this.. happening.. I‘m just a regular teenager, and I‘m witnessing a murder? Theres.. no way.. no-.. no-..NO!-.. what the hell do I do now.. what-.. what do I-‚

Your thoughts are interrupted by the sound of Hioris calm, laidback tone.

„Ah.. Guess im busted huh? You look surprised. Scared too..“ He spoke to you, a sly smile spread across his face.

Your eyes flickered between his smile that did not reach his eyes, and the bloodstained knife. You were not sure what to be more worried about.

How are you gonna survive, or how you are gonna die.
