Prologue
New Morningstars
Sera was pacing the ornate hall of heaven’s council room. Everyone’s thoughts were of the great battle, Lucifer and Lilith’s fall, the appearence of evil and of hell, maybe even of Adam and Eve’s place in heaven. Hers were not. Her thoughts were soley focused on the small, living being in front of her. Lucifer and Lilth's daughter. She had barely touched hell, only when she was born, before being retrieved by the archangels. She was fragile. She was inocent. She would be damned for being the daughter of traitours. Sera knew she would, because even she felt fear grip her heart when she looked at her.
-Seraphym?
Sera snapped her head in the voice's direction.
-Eve, you should not be here.
-Why not? I am a citizen of heaven.
-This room is for archangels and virtutes only.
-Well, fuck that. If Adam can be here, so can I! I’m here to talk about her! She screamed pointing at the forsaken child.
-You talk like Lilith.
-I won’t let you make a bad decision about a child’s life, no matter how much more important than me you are!
-Her rebelious phase didn’t end well.
-I’m not leaving untill you promise me not to hurt her!
-Anything we do will hurt her! If she stays, she'll be judged! If she goes back to hell...who knows what'll happen! If she dies...
-Take her under your wing! Protect her! Her parents ruined my entire life, but I can't hate their child! Why can you?! Take her in, or I will!
And then she was gone. Sera stared. And then the little thing started crying. Sera sighed. She would raise her, like she had promised to raise her new seraphym sister. She hoped she wouldn't grow up into a monster (she would in fact grow up to be a monster, and it would all be Sera's fault.)
Chapter 1
Bruised faith
Emily jumped awake. She felt feathers catch in her mouth and then she tasted floor.
-And that's how the mighty seraphym awakes, she heard a teasing voice.
-Haha, very funny, Emily mumbled as she untangled herself from her own wings, leaving herself standing next to her bed.
-Sera wants to see us.
Emily raised an eyebrow at the blonde angel next to her. Her gold, metalic wings were shining in the morning sun, as was her crown shaped halo. She had her..guitar? Banjo? Whatever it was, in hand. She always did, it was her favorite thing.
-What does she want from us now? she whined.
-Oh, come on! Were archangels! We need to take care of our duties!
-Oh, lighten up Charlie! I’m sure it’s nothing serious!
-Yeah, yeah. But we still have to go.
Charlie helped the seraphym up, and then they flew up to the council room. It was really hard to tell Charlie was Lilith’s and Lucifer’s daughter. She was so nice and kind and proper. Maybe her parents weren’t so bad, if Charlie was their child. Of course, Sera had raised her, but she had also raised Emily and she worked twice as hard as her.
They made it to the council room, and Emily’s face imediatly fell. Sera’s face looked grim, and she could only tell that by the refflection on the window, since she wasn't facing them. Nobody else was in the room. She had only called them, which she only did in times of great peril.
- Sera? Emily barely registered Charlie's quivering voice. Is everything alright?
She didn't respond, and instead said:
-Charlie, Emily, you know that hell has had an...She glanced at Emily...overpopulation problem for a while?
They both tightly nodded.
-And that hell has been trying to rise against us for decades?
They nodded again, and Charlie’s fist tightend.
-Well, these problems have become too much to ignore. Any ideas?
They didn't say anything.
-Then we have no other choice. We will gather the loneliest, newest winners that have nothing to lose and make an army that will attack hell with our most powerfull weapons.
Emily let out a terified squeal. She looked at Charlie, expecting the look of pure disgust to be mirrored one the face of someone she considered a sister. Charlie wasn't looking at her. She looked directly at the other sister she had just lost faith in and said:
-I want to lead it!
Sera snapped her head in her direction, startled.
-And-and I'll do the recruiting! And we-we can devise a sistem that gathers the souls with nothing that go to heaven! I can also train them! And you can creat more..war angels...exorcists? I like that name for the troops, with your powers. Like you did with Emily?
She finnaly stopped rambling. Sera walked up to her and touched her shoulder.
-That would be great, Charlotte. We can start today.
-Yes! she screamed hugging Sera.
Emily didn't know what was happening anymore, but she knew she would never alow them to do this.
-No! I'll-please! Just give me some time! I-I-I'll find another solution! Please!
Sera narrowed her eyes and said:
-Alright. This should be the last resort. I'll give you a month, ok Em?
They made their way towards the door. Sera's voice stopped them:
-Oh, and Charlie? Please start the recruiting process. Even if we don't do this, it'll be nice to help the lonlier souls. Get to know them. Form bonds with them and each other.
Charlie smiled.
-Of course, Sera!
Chapter 2
Anthony’s idea (it was actually Emily’s idea)
Emily hugged her pillow and screamed into it. It had been two weeks and she hadn’t found anything to stop her sisters’ genocide plan. Meanwhile, Charlie had been doing amazing with recruiting! She’d even found an extremly loyal possible girlfriend. Her name was Maggie, her nickname from the few people she had known on Earth was Vagatha, and everyone called her Vaggie since that's what she let Charlie called her. She was absolutely enamored with her sister. If she would have been on better terms with Charlie, she would have endlesly teased. She wasn't, though. So she was sitting one her bed, screaming in her pillow because she couldn't stop thousands of people from dying. And that's when she heard shuffling. Emily raised her head.
-Uh..hey toots? Y'a okay?
She let out a puff of air. It was just her friend she had met trough Charlie's ,,recruiting program'', which hadn't involved actually explaining what they would be doing. Just that they would be (posibly) fighting for heaven. She had told this friend about the whole genocide plan, and he had been distraught. He knew his siblings were in hell, he had been here for almost a century and they hadn't shown up. He loved them, and he would never do anything to hurt them. She finnaly sighed and responded:
-I'm fine, Tony.
-Y'a sure?
-I don't know. I want to stop them, I want to help the people of hell! But I just-..can't.
-I understand, Ems. They're people. I know. I failed t'a save my siblings and now they're there. But I know they're still human, I know that if they had a second chance they would reedem themselves-
-Reedem! That's-that's-you're a genius Anthony! shrieked the seraphym, hugging her friend.
-Uh..What the fuck did I say? What-What's going on?
And that's how the idea for the Happy Hotel came to be. A hotel for reedeming sinners. She excitedly explained her idea to Anthony. They would let sinners stay there for free, and they would make them redeem their sins. Anthony was on board as soon as he understood what was going on. They got some pieces of paper and craions, and they started planning.
Chapter 3
The Happy Hotel
Emily was excited. More than excited. Super excited. More than even that! She had been up all night making plans for the hotel. She didn’t remember when she had fallen asleep, but she knew she was comfortably under some blankets now. Maybe Anthony had moved her. Emily breathed in an out. She got up, and imediatly tripped on a pile of blankets and her own wings and fell. She heard someone laugh. She felt a hand drag her up.
- You alright? asked Charlie.
- Yes, I'm fine! said Emily, the excitment she felt evident in her voice.
-You look tired. Did you sleep at all last night?
- No! I made plans all night.
- Plans for what?
- You know, the plan that will solve overpopulation in hell and will also stop you from committing mass genocide!
- You make it sound worse than it is! said her sister, rolling her eyes.
-And you're not taking me seriously! This is important!
-Suuuuree, Em. The extermination is happening, wether we want it or not.
Emily's blood boiled. Even her new name made this whole thing sound evil!
-How could you say that! We can't give up on them-
-God, Em, you talk as if they're people!
-Because they are! she screched, feeling her power slightly manifest on the outside.
Charlie sighed:
-Look, lets not talk about this. What have you been doing these days?
-Trying to solve our problems without genocide! she said pointedly.
Charlie sighed again:
-Look, can we please talk about something else?
She wanted to scream No!, but she didn't.
-Ok. Fine.
She paused for a bit, scowling, and then asked in a teasing tone:
-How's Vaaaggiiiee?
-Doing well. She seems really dedicated to the cause. I even told her that were atacking hell and she didn't bat an eye!
Emily groaned.
-Yes, because she's completly enamored with you.
Charlie blushed.
-You're not denying it..
-I am now, shut up! exclaimed Charlie, pushing her sister's wing away from her.
Emily giggled. Charlie rolled her eyes fondly. Sudenly, Emily jumped up, looking at the clock.
-Oh no! I have to go meet Sera!
-You actualy arranged a meeting for your silly idea?!
-Yes!
- Well, I hope she declines the idea.
- How could you say that! You don't even know what it is!
- Yeah, but I want to do something with all the angels I recruited!
- So what! Just because you wanted to be the leader of this thing doesn't mean it would be better if my plan was declined!
- Well for me it would be better if your plan would be declined! For everyone in heaven, actually! If we let those monsters come up here, who knows what they'll do!
- You know what?! I don't have time for this! I'm gonna go show Sera my idea wether you like it or not!
- Fine! Just don't be surprised if you end up fallen!
-Like your parents?! Emily angrily retorted.
Charlie let out a frustrated growl and walked away, down the hall. Emily also walked away, furios. She saw Anthony.
- Good luck, Ems!
Emily smiled. Even tough she was still furious at Charlie. At least she would always have Anthony as a friend. She had a good feeling about this! She flew over to the building where she was supossed to see Sera. She entered. Sera was standing there with her back turned.
- I believe you've come here because you figured out a way to fix our...hell problem.
- Yes, I have.
- I would prefer it if Charlie would hear this too.
- Ummm... you sure?
- Yes, I am very sure!
- Alright, I'll go get her. she sighed.
Emily quickly flew away to find Charlie. Luckily it didn't take too long. She was standing on a rooftop, hugging her knees. She looked like she had been crying.
- What do you want?!
- Sera insisted you come to the meeting too.
- Ughh! Fine! But i won't enjoy it! she said, wiping away tears.
They started flying and Emily said:
-Charlie! I-I'm sorry! I shouldn't have mentioned your parents!
-And I shouldn't have said you'd end up like them for this. I just don't want you to get hurt.
-I won't. she said, hugging her sister. I'll always be here for you.
Charlie and Emily both got back to the room.
- Alright. Now that Charlie is here too, you can present your ideea.
- Well, i was thinking that since sinners are in hell for doing bad things, we could try to make them change! Redeem theselves, learn the error of their ways.
- And how are we supossed to do that? asked Charlie.
- By letting them stay at.... The Happy Hotel! said Emily pulling out a bad drawing of a hotel with rainbows around it.
- And how would this hotel work? asked Sera.
- Well we could let sinners go there for free so they could try to become better people.
- Ha! That'l never work. No one in hell whant's to actually change!
- Yes, they do! I'm sure!
- Well, I would like to think about it. said Sera.
Then Sera left the room leaving Charlie and Emily alone.
- She won't accept your stupid ideea
- She will. You'l see.
-Where will you even do this?
-The heaven ambasy! Nobody's properly use it in years, and it's huge!
Charlie rolled her eyes and stalked away.
Chapter 4
Broken faith
Charlie and Emily had been at each others throats for three weeks. It was almost growing into hatred. They where still annoyed at one another: Charlie was angry at Emily for trying to stop the extermination, and Emily was angry at Charlie for trying to stop her plan. And they where both still waiting to hear what Sera had to say.
But Charlie had been doing better: recruiting more and more angels, bonding with Vaggie, everything was fine for her. But it was a little diferrent with Emily: she had been stressed out almost non-stop and she was definitely not doing fine. Anthony was starting to worry. But, she did get her hopes up when Sera called her and Charlie so they could talk about the plan. When the day came, Emily and Charlie both flew over to the council room.
Sera wasn't there. Only Charlie, and Emily also noticed that Vaggie was trailing behind her. Charlie smiled and waved at her, as if Emily hadn't just cried the past week over starting to dislike her sister.
-Hey, Em!
Emily was so startled that she just ankwardly smiled and waved.
-Oh, you haven't formaly met Vaggi yet! Em, this is Vaggie. Vaggie, this is my sister.
She shook Vaggie's hand. She wanted to scream at Charlie that she couldn't just sweep everything under the rug, but instead she just asked:
-Where's Sera?
-Oh, she said she had something to take care of. Charlie said, waving her hand. She'l be here soon. 'Till then, you could show us your plan! Maybe we can come to an understnading!
Emily perked up.
-Okay! I've got a lot to get through, and not a lot of time
And I feel like you weren't hearing me before
So here it goes, ahem
[Emily]
I know Hell's population is out of control
It's a bad situation, it's taking a toll
If we rehab these sinners and cleanse all their souls
At my Happy Hotel
It'll be a happy day in He—
[Charlie, sweetly]
Let me stop you right there
[Emily spoken]
Oh
[Charlie]
Save you some precious time
[Emily]
Okay
[Charlie]
If what you're suggesting is letting them climb
Up the ladder, oh, they'd rather cross the Pearly Gates?
[Emily]
Well, um
[Charlie, still sweetly]
Sorry, sweetie, but there's no defyin' their fates
'Cause Hell is forever, whether we like it or not
Had their chance to behave better, now they boil in the pot
'Cause the rules are black and white
There's no use in tryin' to fight it
They're burnin' for their lives until we’l kill 'em again
[Emily]
Okay, but
[Charlie]
Just try to relax, Em, please don’t waste your breath
Did I hear you imply that they don't deserve death?
Are they winners? Are they sinners? 'Cause it's cut and dry
[Emily, spoken]
Well actually, if you take a look—
[Charlie]
Fair is fair, an eye for an eye
[Charlie, Vaggie]
And, when all's said and done (Said and done)
They’l fly to close to the sun (Ah-ah)
‘Cause for those of us with divine ordainment
It’s easier to walk on holly pavement
{Emily stared incredulosly as Charlie took out her guitar of sorts and started singing}
La-la-la la-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
[Emily]
Oh my god, Charlie
[Charlie, Vaggie]
Hell is forever, whether we like it or not
Had their chance to behave better
Now they boil in the pot
'Cause the rules are black and white
There's no use in tryin' to fight it
They're burnin' for their lives until we’l kill 'em again
[Charlie]
‘Cause Hell is forever and it's meant to suck a lot
Come on, Emily, don't do this 'cause you don't have a shot
I know you've got good intenions but those pave the road to hell
[Emily]
Doesn't that prove that redemption would just work, do tell?
[Charlie]
Since I see your minds not changing
I am wishing you well
You want to reedem these sinners? Go and stay with them!
Emily felt anger and saddness and confusion, all at once. What did her sister mean? She felt her arm being grabed, and before she could process what was going on, she was dangling over an oppened, golden portal, and she could see the red landscaped of hell trough it.
-Charlie? she asked shakily. What are you doing?
Chapter 5
The fall
-Charlie? she asked again.
-I'm just doing what needs to be done. You had your chance. Now you'l burn with them. she raised her prized instrument that Emily knew had been modified to be a weapon.
-Charlie-No- why-how? she sobbed. S-Sera's not gonna stand for this.
-I'll just twist the story a bit. Make your betrayal seem worse than it is, because it would have been if I let you continue this nonsense. I was the one already judged for being traitors' daughter, yet you get to talk about blasphemy, like redeeming those monsters, and just be brushed of. I'm sorry, Emily. Goodbye.
Charlie swung at her. She felt the angelic weapon rip trough her wings on her right side. She screeched in pain. Charlie swung again, this time at her left wings. Emily panicked and tried to spin away. She felt the weapon tear at her top wing, and then felt unbearable pain flash trough her right shoulder as her pathetic attempt at an escape just changed the place the instrument colided with. She staggered at the edge of the portal. Charlie tried to swing at her again. Or maybe she just stepped towards her. Emily's head was starting to swim and her vison was staring to blur. She couldn't tell what was going on anymore.
And then she was falling. Her back burned. She couldn't feel her wings. Her right shoulder's bones grinded against each other painfully. She smelled smoke and she sometimes thought she saw actual fire. But she didn't care. Her whole body was in pain, but her mind wasn't there to feel it. Emily's mind was back in the court room. She hadn't even gotten to say goodbye to Anthony. The last time she had seen him, he was helping her prepare. Helping her try to convince Sera and Charlie about the hotel. She never got to see Sera. She knew her sister wouldn't stand for this. She wished she had at least talked to her one last time. She had barely seen her these past few days. She hadn't gotten to say goodbye to Charlie either. Because she refused to believe the one who threw her out was Charlie. She just couldn't be. That wasn't Charlie. Her sister was sweet and kind and did what she thought was right. She wasn't the monster that had hurt her. She just couldn't be. She just couldn't be.
Pain flashed trough Emily as she hit the ground. Her shoulder's bones were twisted unnaturaly. It hurt. It all hurt. Her back felt like it had been split open. She bit her tongue to stop herself from screaming. She still loudly whimpered, and she tasted blood on her tongue when she bit it. She tried to crawl to her feet, but couldn't. She resented being concious. It was all just pain. She didn't even notice the fact that her halo was lying on the ground, broken.
She was broken out of her miserable thoughts a couple minutes later by a small, white shape walking towards her. His voice was soft and panicked when he started talking to her, or, well, to himself in her direction:
-What-who are you? What happened-what-Are you okay? Gahh-of course she's not, Lu! She's bleeding out in front of you with half her bones broken and eleven ten deegre burns!
Emily tride to reach for him the moment he sat next to her. She gasped in pain when her shoulder moved, but used her other hand to pull herself towards the stranger. She just wanted someone to hold her and tell her everything will be alright. She grabbed on to his shoulder and let her face fall on his shoulder. The stranger stroked her head, and she started to feel the pain diming. The last thing she saw before falling into a deep, peacefull sleep were golden, warm, flickering lights.
Chapter 6
Lucifer, we are not adopting this (probably) grown woman that fell at our doorstep
Lucifer had just gotten out of the house for a little bit. A swift, uneventfull walk. The first time he had gotten out in about a month. And now he was standing with a fallen angel on his lap, putting a sleep spel on her. This was his bi-weekly reminder that, no, his Father still hadn't forgoten about his punishment and was probably laughing his ass off about his wreck of a life right now. He was extremly close to his palace, but couldn't move the little angel without hurting her further. He oppened his mouth and screamed shakily:
-Lilith! Lilith!
He heard his wife scramble down the palace stairs, finnaly reaching him in the garden.
-Lucifer, I swear, if this isn't important-
-It is important. We might have a...teensy-tiny-little problem.
-Did heaven wipe out every denizen of hell while I was having my morning coffee?
-No, that wouldn't be a problem, that'd be paradise...
-Lucifer!
-You know what, lets not fight about this now, 'kay hon?
-Fine. And this better be an actual problem.
He shifted slightly to show the little angel.
-What. Is. that?
-Ummm she's a fallen...
And that's when he noticed that she had two remaining wings on her left side. More importantly, he noticed that a third wing had been ripped out.
-...seraphym. She's a fallen seraphym. Oh, fuck. Ohfuckohfuckohfuckohfuckohfuck-
-Those wretched monsters up in paradise! Do they have no shame? What did she even do to deserve being thrown out?! And leave her defensless in such a state!
-Ohfuckohfuckohfuck-
-Lucifer!
-Ohfuckohfuck-Yes, love?
-Did she tell you what happened?
-Nooo? She's very much unconcious? Look, I know you're mad at heaven and all, but maybe we should call Belphegor and get this seraphym-that-suspiciously-looks-like-Sera healed first.
-Gahh. You're right. I'll get her on the phone, you can move her and get her in one of the guest rooms that haven't been used in centuries.
-How? I don't want to agravate her wounds?
Lilith looked confused.
-Teleportation? Your preffered metod of traveling?
-Ohhhh!
-..And that's why I'm the actual ruler of hell!
-No, you're the actual ruler because you're the smartest, most briliant person in the entire world.
Lilith smiled and kissed him, then Lucifer teleported to the quest room with the seraphym. Lilith pulled out her phone and dialed Belpegore's number.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lilith and Lucifer were sitting on their couch. Some doctors from Sloth had come to check on the strange fallen seraphym, and they would probably care for her for the next month or so. They had brought lots of equipment, god knows the little one needed all the help she could get. The doctors had told them she was ,,in pretty rough shape'', to which Lilith had sarcasticly replied that they could tell. Lucifer sighed:
-So...we have a fallen seraphym that we don't know anything about, will probably remain unconcious for the next month and looks like a mini Sera. Great. Ha. Haha.
-Do you think she's related? To Sera?
-Probably. Maybe her daughter, or maybe her sister. Lets hope they don't have similar personalities. What do we do?
-Continue with our lives until she wakes up, talk to her when she does. And maybe teach her to fend for herself, adjust to life in hell.
-We should just throw her out when she recovers.
-Lucifer!
-Okay, okay. But if she acts like Sera I'm throwing her out. I don't like stuck up bitches.
Lilith groaned. She would have also thrown her head back, but those blasted horns limited most of her head movements. They stood in silence for a couple of minutes.
-I'm gonna go check on our patient. Maybe strenghten the spell, or make sure she doesn't have any nightmares.
Lilith nodded and then kissed him.
-Go do that, I have some paperwork to get done anyway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emily pried open her eyelids slightly. Her mind was fuzzy. She remembered falling. Charlie's betrayal still hurt, but her wounds didn't, from what she could tell. She must bee in hell. She oppened her eyes fully, to search the room. The moment she did, she saw a short man dressed in white and red. He had been doing something with gold colored magic that she only saw from the corner of her eye. He flinched when he saw that she was awake.
-Oh! H-hi! You're awake, that's great! he said ankwardly.
-I-hi. Thanks for helping me, she said quietly. You were the one to help me, right?
Lucifer nodded.
-Thank you, really. I didn't know people in hell could be so kind!
He smilled.
-What was the golden magic thing you did? asked Emily.
-Oh, you saw that. I was making sure your dreams were peacefull.
-You can manipulate dreams?
-Umm...not really...I can change them to make the person I'm using my magic on happy, but I can't see them or choose them.
Emily looked at him suspiciously.
-That was my exact power in heaven. As the joy bringer.
Lucifer used all of his self control to not start nervously sweating.
-I guess heaven and hell aren't that different after all. he said, a bit to enthusiasticly.
-I guess. Just wasn't what I was expecting. she said, instinctively moving her hand to fidget with her now non-existent halo.
-Oh, I saved your halo. It's kind of broken, but maybe it has sentimental value to you, I don't know.
-I don't know if I'm ready to see it again yet.
-That's okay.
They sat in silence for a couple of minutes. Emily tried sitting up. She winced when she moved her shoulder, which she just realized she couldn't really feel otherwise. The man next to her helped pull her into a sitting position.
-You might not be able to move part of your arm properly, ever. The doctors put a cast thing on you to keep that shoulder in place, a brace for the rest of the arm, and they said it's permanent. We would have tried to do some more, but it's hell, so the equipment is quite lacking.
She stood there, procesing for a bit. Then she realized her back felt lighter than it should. She panickedly moved her left hand up to it.
-Oh, part of your hair might have burned off when you fell.
She could feel her hair shorter, but that wasn't what was bothering her. She grasped at her wings, but she only felt a couple stray feathers.
-Oh, right. Ffff....whoever threw you out cut off four of your wings.
Emily whimpered. Lucifer moved in to hug her, which she happily accepted.
-It's okay. You'll get used to it eventualy.
-I'm sadder that Charlie would betray me like this, honestly.
Lucifer stiffend.
-Who's Charlie?
-The one who made me fall. She was like a sister to me, we were both raised by our other sister Sera. I expect you know a bit about her, even if you don't really get heaven politics down here.
-Why should I?
-She's your rulers' daughter? Charlotte Magne Morningstar? Don't they keep making a huge deal out of heaven taking her?
-Oh. I-I've heard of her. In passing.
They stood there for a bit. Lucifer was trying really hard to not have a panic attack, the jury was still out on if he was succeding or not. Suddenly, Emily said:
-Oh, I don't think we were ever formaly aquainted. I'm Emily.
-I'm Luci...an. Lucian!
And that's when Lilith oppened the door.
-Lucif-
-Hahahah! Heeeeeyyyy! Lily! Emily, this is my wife...Lilian! Yeah, Lilian.
-Hello, Lilian! Pleased to meet you!
Somehow, Emily didn't see the confused and exasperated glances Lilith kept shooting Lucifer, nor the frantic hand gestures and expresions the man kept making at his wife.
-Hello, Emily. I'm pleased to meet you too. Do you mind if I take my husband here away for a private disscusion?
-Uh..Sure?
The moment they were far enough, Lilith said:
-What the fuck was that? Why did you lie about our names of all things?!
-Look, Lilith, you're the smartest person I know, so don't take this as undermining that,-BUT HOW THE FUCK DO YOU THING A FUCKING SERAPHYM WOULD HAVE REACTED TO OUR NAMES AND IDENTITIES?! The poor thing would have had a heart attack on the spot!
Lilith sighed:
-Alright, but we tell her as soon as she recovers. What did you find out about her?
-Umm..she's heavens joy bringer.
-Hmm, wonder why the person who's whole job is happines always falls. She said sarcasticly.
-Oh...and...ourdaughter'stheonethathurtherlikethat.
-What?
Lucifer fidgeted a bit, then finnaly said clearly:
-Our daughter was the one who hurt her.
-WHAT?!
-And our daughter was raised by Sera, as this seraphyms sister, from what she says at least.
Lilith transformed into her demonic form, spilling fire eveywhere.
-OHHO! I SEE HOW IT IS! SHE THINKS SHE CAN COME DOWN HERE, STEAL OUR DAUGHTER, AND THEN RAISE HER TO BE A MONSTER AND GET AWAY WITH IT?!?!?!? WELL, SHE'L THINK DIFFERENTLY WHEN I GO UP THERE AND RIP HER TO PIECES-
-Lily, love, please just calm down! Lets focus on taking care of Emily first! Breath in and out! In and out. Please don't destroy the whole room again.
She breathed in and out again and again, her demonic form slowly defflaiting.
-You're right. We'll make sure those wretched holly bastards never hurt someon again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emily had been in their home for about a year now. Lilith didn't know how to feel about it. On one hand, she was much to naive to go out yet. On the other hand...Lucifer was getting way to attached. He still hadn't revealed that they were the rulers of hell, and the girl had taken to calling him Luci. Or, most recently, ''dad", which was quite appropriate since he had been doing an amazing job of using her to replace the life they could have had with Charlie. Teaching her about hell, telling her stories, even showing her his duck collection!
But they weren't Emily's parents. She only helped Emily learn about hells politics so she was ready to go out there. She was protective of her because heaven had no right to hurt anybody. She had only responded when Emily called her mom because there was nobody else she could have been talking to. And she hadn't told her to stop calling her mom because..Okay she was really running out of reasons and excuses here.
She loved her as much as she had loved Charlie. And she had stopped feeling bad about it. Because Emily needed a family(and partialy because imagining Sera's horrified expresion at seeing the sister she raised so close to her brought her extreme glee).
Emily was getting better. She was prancing around the palace. She was talking about her experience in heaven a bit. She was getting used to not flying, not having wings and having limited movement with her right arm. As she aclimated more to hell, she grew a dark purple pair of horns. Lilith may or may not have been extremly excited that they looked exactly like hers. Lilith had given her a new dress, it looked similar to the one she had when she fell but purple, to somewhat match the horns. Emily also borrowed a pair of long gloves from Lilith to cover some burn scaring that still hurt when touching things. The woman in question was really excited about her borrowing something from her. She had finnaly taken her halo back. It was split in two and one of the small pieces at the top had come of. She had put the small piece around her neck in the form of a necklace and made the rest of the halo float around her waist with magic. Her hair had also mostly grown back, and Lilith had made a point of making her brush it until it wasn't sticking out everywhere.
Around the time she started to want to go out, they realized she needed to know that they were the rulers of hell. She had gotten over it surprisingly quickly. In about a day. She had told them that they had understood and treated her better than anybody else in heaven, and that they were like the parents she never had. Two days later, she was being formaly introduced as their daughter and the princess of hell to the rest of the realm.
She had been living with them for three years when the exterminations started. Lilith had tried to stop them, but then Sera had threatend to take Emily back, and imprison her in heaven. She went on a destructiv rampage in an isolated wings of the palace after signing the contract. Not hurting Emily or the hellborns for a yearly extermination of her kingdom. That's also when Emily had explained the actual story of her fall. Lilith thought the idea of redemption was amazing, and said that she and her husband owned a big abandoned building that would make a good hotel. In six months she was moving into the Happy hotel with the help of Lucifer and Lilith. She would finnaly achieve her dream.
Chapter 7
Heaven and hell aren’t so different after all
Dear diary,
Hi! I’m Emily! It's been three and a half years since I fell from heaven, though I guess you wouldn't know about that. I've found that hell and heaven aren't so different after all. Hell even feels..freer somehow. I've been living at the Happy hotel for the past week. It's been weird, living on my own. Lilith got me a journal to sort out my thoughts. My parents still visit me two days a week, I would miss them to much otherwise. Hah. My parents. It's still feels strange to say that, but I like it.
Anyway. I'm probably going to have to let Charlie continue her genocide plan until I sort the hotel out. Hopefully, in a couple years I'l stop it. I can barely bare the thought of her killing so many people, and because of me! But I can't rush it. The hotel's not fully restored, and I still need souls that want to be reedemed.There are some demons that fight turf wars IN FRONT OF MY HOTEL! It's horyffing, with a capital ''h''. But they seem to be nice otherwise. Two of them look exactly really familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it! Their names are Molly and Arackniss.
Molly makes mean jokes, and she's really sarcastic and snarky with me, in a rude way. She's like that with her brother, Arackniss, but in a fun, teasing, sibling way, even if they get into phisical fights. I think it's their weird love language. She's different with me. I think she doesn't like me, but I can tell she's a good person deep inside. Arackniss doesn't like me ether, but he seems grumpy, snappy and agresive generaly, so I'm not torn up about it.
Molly also has a friend. Her name is Cherri. I believe anyone can be redeemed, but she's kind of...deranged? She throws bombs around, and sets things on fire and enjoys it! But maybe I can convince her to redeem herself. She also fights a snake guy that they all hate. He works for these V guys, I think they're overlords?
That's all for now. I'l write here in another week!
Dear diary,
I know it's been more than a week, but I've had a long month. I met Molly's boss. Her name's Velvette. She's rude and disrespectfull and gives back-handed compliments that even I can tell are back-handed. She does it in an anoyngly sweet way, not with extreme bluntnes like Molly. But even though she's an overlord, and treats Molly badly, I just learned she's actually a really kind soul.
Molly and Cherri were making fun of the hotel one day, I was trying to get them to try it out again, calling it the has been hotel. They said it looks ancient and only souls that have been here for so long that nothing matters anymore would come. They call it that every day, but this time I got so frustrated that I still wasn't convincing them that I just ran away and cried. I hadn't interacted with Velvette up until that point, but she sat next to me and told me that has been hotel was barely an insult. That it was a place were demons leave their sins behind, were they get rid of their old ways and could say demons is what they had been when they are in heaven. That they basicaly just gave me a better name then ,,my boring name''. She also said that they acted like a bunch of high school bullies. And then, I don't know why I said it, it just sliped out, I said that that's exactly how she acts. And she just rolled her eyes and snorted.
The next day she appeared at the hotel and said she wants to help me. She also forced Molly to move in and try redemption. So, I guess we're friends? Either way, It's nice to have a resident for the new and improved Hazbin hotel! I took creative liberties with the spelling, made it more interesting. Maybe Velvette was right, the old name was kind of boring. I'll write again when I adjust to staying with Molly.
Dear diary,
I had a talk with Molly today. She told me she had a sibling she hadn't seen in a while. She said he's either in heaven or dead. We bonded over missing people, I guess. She might have told Arackniss about this to. They've been both nicer to me, I think. They still snark at me, but they're not aiming to be cruel now. We haven't really started redemption activities yet, but I'm sure we will soon.
Dear diary,
I know it's been...a lot of years. Four I think? Since I've writen here. The Hazbin hotel is going great! Hopefully. We still only have one resident, and there have been seven extermination so far. I hope I can stop them this year, finnaly. Stop Charlie. I've started dating Velvette about a year ago. She'd been a great friend up until that point, and now she's a great girlfriend. I'm going to the tv station tomorow to promote the hotel. I won't have time to write here again, so this is goodbye, for now at least.
