Chapter Text
It seems to be a normal day; it’s lunch break which means for a certain someone that it’s almost time for school to end. That may be true, but there is still a certain amount of time left before class ends.
???: (Man, this sandwich is FREAKING tasteless! I can’t even taste the bread here. It looks like there ARE ingredients in it but... it still feels like I’m eating air. Also, this probably is not enough for me to get through the day, even if I could TASTE the ingredients. Welp, this is as far as my lunch money can get me, I’ll just have to deal with it for the rest of the day. Might as well look for some dropped coins, that way I'll be able to get some candy.)
The young girl, not much older than 14, wanders around the campus just hoping that maybe, just maybe, she would survive this day. As she wandered around, she found a corner that she has never seen before in her 6 years of staying in this school
???: (Hm...? Huh? The hell? Hey, this might be a cool place to hang out in. If only I had more friends. But anyway, where’s the money!? I’ve looked everywhere around the campus!!! I don’t think I’ll be able to have candy today. What a shame- HUH WAIT IS THAT-)
A golden shine appears on the ground, possibly the coin that Yi Guang has been searching for a decent amount on time.
Yi Guang: Hehehe, my lucky day! Being broke ain’t gonna kill me now! Time to finally claim my reward-
The golden light seemingly gets larger and larger, consuming Yi Guang into a bright light. Making Yi Guang slam headfirst into the pavement.
Yi Guang: OW!!! Where am I?
A ghostly figure stands before her looking menacingly into her eyes
Ghost Figure: Mortal, you’re in my territory
Yi Guang: WHAT?! WHO ARE YOU?!
Ghost Figure: My name shouldn’t matter to a mortal such as yourself.
Yi Guang: Speak for yourself, I’m leaving and getting the hell out of this place!
The figure, suddenly startled by that statement suddenly grabs Yi Guang’s shoulder, but her hand passed through, confusing Yi Guang
Ghost Figure: Wait don’t go!!! Is it possible for you to lead me out of this barrier?
Yi Guang: Ehhh? Aren't you gonna eat me or something Miss Ghost?
Ghost Figure: I figured it would be a waste if I let you go, let alone devour you. I have been stuck here for centuries, so....
Yi Guang: Hm... no.
The figure, visibly upset by this, suddenly gives an even more menacing stare than before.
Ghost Figure: If you do not comply, I shall torture you till you are not even recognizable and personally mince up your bones until there’s seemingly no trace of your miserable existence
Yi Guang: ... alright, I guess.
The two then start walking to the “barrier”. After some time, they reach their destination
Yi Guang: Holy crap, it’s real.
Ghost Figure: Now why wouldn’t that be, are you assuming that I am a liar?
Yi Guang: What!? No.... (I was.)
Ghost Figure: You know, I can hear your thoughts...right...?
Yi Guang: Whaaat? Of course I did, obviously! (Absolutely not.)
Ghost Figure: ...Well, the only way for me to exit this barrier is to possess you.
Yi Guang: WHAT? YOU DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS!!!
Ghost Figure: If I did, you would never have listened to me.
Yi Guang: YOU-
Before she could finish her sentence, the ghostly figure had already started the process of possession, temporarily separating Yi Guang’s soul from her body. The figure, now in Yi Guang’s body, walks past the barrier, leaving Yi Guang inside
Ghost Figure: that’s better
Yi Guang: HEY!!! GET BACK HERE!!!
Ghost Figure: Goodbye, mortal. Good luck.
Yi Guang: OH, COME ON!!!
Yi Guang’s body walks further and further away from her until it disappears from her sight. This would have been the end although, something feels wrong
Yi Guang: I’m bored, man. There’s nothing to do.... Hmmm...What if I tried to possess something? Like...
Yi Guang stares outside the barrier spotting a tree just outside the barrier
Yi Guang: I got it!
Meanwhile...
Ghost Figure: Hm...? Why am I being stopped?
A visibly short purple-haired person stands before the ghost figure, scanning her body
Purple-haired person: Excuse me? You aren’t from around here, aren’t you? Do you have any form of identification that you’re carrying right now?
Ghost Figure: Unfortunately, not as of this moment.
Purple-haired person: I see, due to the amount of Dark Wing infiltration cases, we will need to determine if you’re one of them or not. You are not allowed to decline
Ghost Figure: I understand.
Purple-haired person: Glad you do. I’ll be taking you to the research institute.
She then drops the ghost at the research institute, where she is met with two new people. One with orange hair and one with white both of which look strangely off though.
Orange-haired girl: Piko, Uta dropped off another potential hazard
Piko?: Rei, you can handle it right?
Rei: Fair enough, welcome to Starraria, more specifically Northerns.
