Cale looks up from where they decided to rest, a cliff near the villa he owned. It was one of those days when Alberu came to visit to sit in silence with Cale.
The stars shone quietly, granting them the peace he knew they needed. Perhaps Alberu even needed it more than him now.
“Soon, everything will be over.” Alberu whispers, more to himself than anything.
Cale smiles beside him. “You’re free to visit anytime.” The ex-commander turns his hair. Alberu delights at the sight, his head tilting.
It was the first time he had seen Cale smile so genuinely.
