    Maekar is two years past presentation when his father, King Daeron II, proclaims it high time his youngest child makes a match.

    In an attempt to soften his son to the idea of a mate, he invites Lord Baratheon and his heir, Lyonel, to visit them at the keep for the summer knowing the two have been amicable in the past. Maekar is resistant to the young lord as he only has eyes for his beloved brother, Baelor, who has promised they will be wed.
