He gritted his teeth as the hot tears he could no longer contain spilled down his cheeks. Was. The word seared in Gyro’s mind like a hot brand. Johnny is still all those things, alive in memories, alive in infinity.

The elevator opened to a long, sterile hallway not unlike the ones above, but this one was quieter, eerier. Gyro wasted no time pushing Johnny towards one of the rooms at the back of the hall, practically sprinting with every step he took, and through the swing doors. The room was much like any other operating room, but this one had an adjacent area for experimental brain scans and a live monitoring room for the doctors.Gyro took a deep breath. He had to be quick if he wanted to get this done right. He couldn’t risk Johnny dying in the middle of the transfer.

Or, Johnny is in a freak accident and succumbs to his injuries, and Gyro can't accept it. He will do anything to bring his husband back, even if he is slightly different from the way he was before.
