   Summary

A measly six hours stands between you and crossing over that line into relative freedom. Freedom from reapings, from the pounding of your heart every year when Monique dipped her hand into that bowl, from near certain death in one of the Capitol’s inhuman arenas; forever.

Yet the odds have never truly been in your favor, you suppose, and you find yourself thrown headfirst into the lion’s den of the 74th Annual Hunger Games.

Your only hope of survival? Whatever the reclusive duo of District 5’s previous victors, Eddison Watts and Volt Cyrus, can teach you in the short time you spend together before that countdown starts.

But something is sparking below the surface, and if they’re to be believed, is survival really the best outcome you can hope for?
