Canon Verse POV
Training was extra grueling today as the heat of the summer tried to push autumn back. The idea of taking a dip in UA's pool sounded nice to many in Class 1-A, but even their limbs were too exhausted to even keep them afloat in water. One by one, each student collapsed into the soft grass of the field as they squeezed what little bit of water from their bottles on to their burning skin. Todoroki was kind enough to make an ice canopy that everyone gathered around and under to cool off despite his almost quirk exhaustion. Suddenly a deafening POP could be heard across the campus causing many students both within the building and outside to startle and jump in fright.
Despite the exhaustion from training, Class 1-A jumped to attention, prepared for a fight. Instead of a fight though, a small figure could be seen falling from the sky at a high rate. Before Aizawa- sensei even spoke, Izuku drew Uraraka and Todoroki to him with a plan.
"Todoroki, do you have enough energy to make an ice slide for Uraraka?" he asked quickly and when the dual haired boy nodded his head in an affirmative, Izuku turned to Uraraka. "Can I throw you up to him and you use your quirk to slow his fall?"
"Yes!" Uraraka answered hurriedly, tucking her arms into her body.
Without hesitation, Izuku grabbed Uraraka by her forearm and calf, twirled her around with a small percentage of One for All and launched her toward the falling figure. Uraraka quickly caught up to person, wrapping her arms around them before touching herself to slow their descent by activating her quirk on herself. Todoroki made a small ice slide that met Uraraka where her and the person had finally slowed to a stop. She released her quirk without letting go of the kid while Iida and Yaoyorozu waited at the end of the ice slide with a first aid kit and some med bots. Aizawa watched on with prideful and a pensive expression at his class's instant response to an unknown crisis and victim care. Kirishima rushed over with an awed expression as he clapped both Izuku and Uraraka on the shoulders, proudly.
"That was so manly how you reacted to that, Mido-bro! No hesitation and a plan on the fly!" Kirishima shouted excitedly.
Now that the crisis was over and Izuku and Uraraka had a chance to calm down, both turned deep shades of red at the compliment.
"It was nothing," Izuku tried to brush off while Uraraka busied herself with helping the reps care for the victim who they could now see was a child.
Aizawa stepped forward after checking that everyone was alright. "Kirishima is right. You did good coming up with a plan quickly and decisively."
Bakugo slowly approached the child now wrapped in a blanket and laying on the gurney. The normal scowl on his face grew deeper as he took in the kid's dark curly green hair and freckled face.
"Hey, Deku! This kid looks like you when we were in elementary school," Bakugo stated gruffly as he crossed his arms.
Aizawa and Izuku's heads popped up from the conversation they were having to take a better look at the boy as he was being carried to the infirmary.
"Everyone, go change out of your gym clothes and return to the dorms. Class is dismissed for the day," Aizawa-sensei announced as he followed the med bots. "Midoriya, you need to go change and clean up as well. Meet me in the infirmary when you're finished."
"Yes, Sensei," Izuku responded before following his classmates back into the building and to the locker rooms.
Nothing was really said amongst everyone as they showered and changed. Izuku was quick to finish and rush to the infirmary, catching up to All Might in the halls. After explaining what happened, All Might followed Izuku to meet this smaller version of him. When they entered the infirmary, they were greeted by very wide green eyes staring at them excitedly while Recovery Girl checked the child’s vitals.
“Everything looks good on the child, so he should be fine to leave and rest in the dorms, Aizawa-kun,” she informed the sleepy hero as he sucked down a jelly pouch.
“This is so cool!” the green haired child yelled out as he jumped from the medical cot and ran up to Izuku and Yagi. “You’re like me, but in high school! Does Kacchan attend UA too? Are we becoming great heroes together like we always dreamed?” he questioned quickly as he grabbed on to Izuku’s uniform sleeve.
“Hold on, before Midoriya answers any questions, we need to see how you got here. We don’t know if this is a time travel quirk incident or something else,” Aizawa explained calmly to little Izuku.
As Little Izuku nodded his head in understanding, there was a soft knock on the infirmary door and Yagi opened the door to welcome in Principal Nedzu who had caught wind of the situation from the cameras in his office. Everyone watched as the child’s face lit up with recognition and he jumped off the medical cot in excitement. Nedzu remained unphased as the child bound over to him and hugged him.
“Nedzu-sensei! It’s so great to see you! I know you’ll be able to figure out how to get me home before my father blows up on everyone. He can have quite the temper when something happens to me,” Little Izuku explained.
There was a soft slightly muffled groan that came from Aizawa’s direction. Izuku and Yagi turned to see Aizawa with a pained expression at the thought of his problem child being mentored by the rat. Izuku smiled awkwardly at the situation before it dawned him what his younger counterpart said.
“Wait… our father? What about mom? She’ll be worried too,” Izuku questioned.
Little Izuku’s face scrunched up as if trying to stop tears from falling when he answered, “She died when I was little, so dad quit working overseas as much to raise me. Since she passed, dad has been very protective and even got extremely angry when All Might found me separated from my brothers one day. He’s not too fond of heroes either.”
That was a lot to unpack and Izuku didn’t even know where to start especially considering he knows nothing about his father since he left to work overseas after he turned 5. Nedzu clapped his paws together before going back to rubbing the child’s back.
“Well, I do believe that answers one of our questions now we just need to figure out how we can get young Izuku-kun back to his family in his universe,” Nedzu stated before turning toward the doors of the infirmary. “Why don’t we continue this in my office?”
With a round of agreement everyone began to follow the principal who had made his way on to Yagi’s shoulder since he was the closest to the door. Little Izuku looked over toward Yagi with a curious expression.
“Aren’t you usually bigger, All Might?” Little Izuku asked confused.
Izuku tried to hold back a laugh while Aizawa hid a snicker in his scarf. Yagi let out surprised bloody cough while Nedzu hummed in thought. The child’s observation and analysis skills were well developed for his age. A devious smile stretched across Nedzu’s face as he resituated on Yagi’s shoulder. Little Izuku wondered over to Aizawa and gently tugged on his sleeve. Without thinking, Aizawa pulled his hand out of his pocket for the child to grasp like he’s done a million times for Eri at this point. Once they made it to Nedzu’s office and they settled with a cup of tea each, Little Izuku began a recount of what happened that day which lead up to him appearing in the middle of the exercise field.
Little Izuku's POV
"Tomura-nii! Touya-nii! Come on! I want to catch this villain fight before Dad realizes how long we've been gone!" a little green-haired child, no older than 7, shouted excitedly as he pulled a periwinkle-haired boy and a white-haired boy behind him with surprising strength for both his age and size.
"Slow down, brat, before you rip our arms off!" rasped the periwinkle boy as he attempted to stop his younger brother.
"But there's an awesome villain fight happening with some new heroes appearing!" Little Izuku whined while looking back at his brothers with big round eyes and his lower lip poking out.
"Don't do that to us, Izuku," Touya pleaded as he tried to resist the urge to fold under the puppy eyes.
"We'll be back before Dad even finds out," Izuku begged harder.
Touya turned to Tomura for back up but saw the slightly younger one starting to fold. With a huff, Touya nodded his head while Tomura rubbed a gloved covered hand down his face.
"I better get 3 hours of no interruptions to play my games later," Tomura grumbled.
"Yes! Yes! Anything!" Izuku agreed as his brothers followed him toward the fight.
Izuku held on tightly to his notebook as they approached the ongoing fight. He knew that if his dad caught them, they’d be in big trouble, but if not, he’d have new analysis to show Nedzu-sensei. He believed the risk was worth the lesson. The closer they got, the more he realized which heroes were fighting: Best Jeanist and Endeavor, but he couldn't spot the new heroes. Touya quickly tossed the hood of his sweatshirt up to hide his face when Endeavor came flying by, throwing flames at the villain who appeared to be carrying a bag of cash and jewelry. Every opening and closing of the portals, a loud thunder crash resounded off the buildings.
Though Izuku was disappointed at not seeing the new heroes in action, he still watched on fascinated as the villain opened small portals and flew through them followed by Endeavor trying to catch her and they came popping out in other areas. Best Jeanist kept trying to use the fibers of the villain’s clothes to restrict her movement before she ended up in another portal, but would lose connection when the portals closed. Izuku began writing quickly, making up theories as to what the villain’s quirk was and how strong it was.
Suddenly, the boys felt a burst of wind behind them before Izuku was yanked through as the villain leveraged on him and came out followed by Endeavor. The last thing he saw was his brothers reaching out to him with fear filled eyes and Best Jeanist pulling them back as he watched Izuku fall through the portal. The portal began to close before Best Jeanist could reach out and catch him. The wind whipped around him harshly as he fell. He ended up passing out from the shock of the fall before he was rescued.
Canon Verse POV
“That’s all remember before waking up here at UA,” Little Izuku explained as tears gathered in his eyes again.
Izuku placed a hand on his younger counterpart and smiled brightly at him. “Don’t worry little me, we’ll take great care of you and figure out how to get you home,” he told Little Izuku encouragingly.
With a sniffle, Little Izuku glanced up at his older self and began to calm down, feeling quite reassured. Is this what he’d be like as a hero? Just like he dreamed of being like All Might. Nodding his head, Little Izuku smiled softly.
“Wait! Where’s my notebook?” Little Izuku fretted as he looked at the heroes.
“I’m sorry, but when we caught you, you didn’t have one on you,” Izuku explained sadly. “But I have plenty of them in my dorm, so you can have one.”
Little Izuku perked up as he hopped out of the chair he was in. “It sucks that I’ll have to start over, but at least I remember everything I wrote in it,” he said confidently.
“Yeah, we have a great memory for sure,” Izuku responded as he stood. “What did you have in your notebook, by the way?”
“My lessons with Nedzu-sensei and other analysis. I was working on one for that villain when she had pulled me through the portal. It’s quite interesting how she was actually jumping through other universes, though it does make me question why she didn’t just escape that way instead of popping around the city like she was,” Little Izuku began to ramble thoughtfully.
Nedzu perked up at the mention of his alternate self mentoring this young mind. His eyes wondered over to Midoriya and wondered if he may be the same as his younger alternate self.
“No! I know that look rat and I’m putting my foot down,” Aizawa snapped causing the others in the room to startle. He turned to Izuku and told him, “Take Little Izuku back to the dorms and don’t cause any trouble.”
“Yes, Sensei,” Izuku responded as he grabbed his younger self’s hand.
“I’ll go with them and let the class know what is going on,” Yagi said as he opened the door for the boys.
“Oh, come on, Aizawa-kun. Aren’t you the least bit curious too,” Nedzu coaxed watching Aizawa with his beady eyes.
“No, I just want to get the mini problem child back to his home without incident,” Aizawa sighed as he made his way out of the office.
He could feel Nedzu’s mischievous eyes watching him as he left. He knew this discussion wasn't over with Nedzu. All he wanted was his sleeping bag and a jelly pouch and to get this kid back home before anything could go wrong. Aizawa shook his head as he went to his apartment to hopefully get some rest before his patrol that night.
