There is a theory I’ve always had about those with heteromorphic/mutant quirks, that they must have the instincts of the animal that they take features from. Chief Tsuragame says ‘woof’, Hound Dog devolved into growling when mad, and my particular theory, that Officer Sansa (the guy with a cat head) wears a bell because just like cats, if he doesn’t wear a bell to scare off small animals he’ll chase them. I also headcanon that anyone with a mutant quirks has a heat cycle/ breeding cycle just like an animal. So what is we took that to the extreme? Doctor Gataki, wanting a loyal Nomu without the brainwashing combines a few mutant quirks of animals known to be loyal, only he forgot to check if the main body was in heat befor Tomura took the Nomu. Normally this would be fine. But this Nomu smells ‘puppy’ when seeing Izuku and latches on.
