⬛️⬛️/⬛️⬛️/⬛️⬛️ - MORNING
Entry by: Nannina
For the week, I was assigned to give wake up calls for our Grandmaster. It's not a taxing job for sure but… What I'd seen coming from his tent is surprising, guaranteed. No one in my team believed it. Maybe they just feigned ignorance for their sake. I mean, I understand. If they were in my shoe, they won't speak of this to anyone. No one would truly believe themselves. It's like the Abyss was playing tricks on them. Except it's real.
On ⬛️th of ⬛️, I went to the Grandmaster's tent to call for breakfast. I shouted from outside. I dare not went in without his permission. But there's no reply. Maybe he hadn't woken up yet. I tried calling out some more. Minutes later, the Vice Captain of the 5th Company exit the tent. He was all smile. I smiled back. Honestly, what do you even do in this situation? I couldn't exactly interrogate my superior about it right? Not to mention the scary one at that! I love my life more!
Like, what was he doing in the Grandmaster's tent? Where was the Grandmaster? I couldn't possibly mistaken his tent for another. His had a large Wolf of the North symbol on. It's really distinguished from the others. Well, the suspense didn't last long since Grandmaster Varka came out later. He seemed tired. He was yawning his jaw was practically stretching wide. I wonder what he discussed with Sir Lohen all night. Must be important stuff.
The problem started here. Archons, even writing this down I feel like sinning. Forgive me, Lord Barbatos. But I need to tell this to someone, even if it's in a diary!
The next day I went for the call, I accidentally peek inside. My curiosity got the best of me. I…I saw Sir Lohen slept on top of the Grandmaster! So cute! Like a Blubberbeast coddling their youngster. He looked so peaceful with his cheek squished onto the Grandmaster's chest. So fluffy! And that drool! So irresistibly adorable! I thought I was undiscovered, until Grandmaster Varka gestured towards me to keep it quiet. I understand very well, sir. I will treasure this historic moment alongside you.
The following day…wasn't as good as the other. I heard they were talking inside so I thought it's fine if I entered. After all, the Grandmaster replied to my call. I saw no problem to enter. But…I walked in on them dressing up! So embarrassing! I immediately pardoned myself outside covering my eyes! That was shameless of me. I'm definitely going to get picked for Sir Lohen's 'special training' after. But wait… Weren't their body covered in too many bruises? Must had been from all the Wild Hunt fighting on patrol.
Still, it's weird for Sir Lohen to frequent the Grandmaster's tent a lot. He has his own. Isn't it tiring? I mean, his tent is far apart. For him to keep coming back every night, it must have been a really important discussion.

It's no strange matter that Sir Lohen wasn't at camp. He's often out there hunting down the Abyss like farmers harvesting their crops for consumption. Though when dusk arrived, the sun set, and the night came, the dark would amplify their influence. It's dangerous to go as is, not without a pair with our collaborator the Lightkeepers. Their lantern that's infused with kuuvahki would help. But, not like Sir Lohen worry about technical issue like that. He's on a completely different level.
So it's up to us knights on patrol sometimes to get him back to camp. Often times we failed, unable to get him out of his battle euphoria and reason with him. Look. You have to understand. Seeing him covered in blood, with a smile plastered on his face, eyes full of madness(though we know he's just full of adrenaline at the moment), it's still scary to see. Anyone with a sane mind wouldn't dare to get close.
We had no choice but to leave him be and report back to the Grandmaster. He's the only one that could talk him out of it. He's above in hierarchy after all even if he wasn't a noble. And his strength was on par with him, so it's fine. Unlike us. He could definitely beat us with a flick.
And thus, I made a discovery on the different ways the Grandmaster would carry Sir Lohen back to camp. Some posture lacked charm, some were just too much. Despite it all, Sir Lohen was never offended in it. Which is…surprising to say the least. It doesn't seemed like anything the Grandmaster do would ever get him riled up enough for an argument. Well, he did pester the Grandmaster for a spar once in a while. Maybe he's compensated? Regardless, here were my findings:
-
Grandmaster Varka had dragged him on foot, with the Vice Captain still struggling to get out of his grip, like a stubborn child trying to run away doing mischief. His using all his strength to stop him. I could see the muscles popped. Effectiveness: 5/10 (There were multiple times he took off his coat to escape).
-
He had sacked him over the shoulder, as if he was another weighless bag of potatoes to carry on. Thank goodness he was listless. It seemed like the battle rush left quite an impact. But it's elegance was on the downside. Effectiveness: 6/10.
-
The Grandmaster had saddled him on waist, like a lifeless body though he's probably just fainted from exhaustion(I couldn't stress how hilarious this is but Sir Lohen would kill me if he found out). Effectiveness: 7/10 (Grandmaster got bitten one time).
-
He had carried him in arms princess style, with a flushed face indicating his fever. And here I thought I'd see Sir Lohen's blushing out of embarrassment for the first time. He was so unbothered that he even bragged about it. Drag… Effectiveness: 9/10 (Just because Sir Lohen looked happy).
My conclusion would be that Sir Lohen only allowed such mishandling from the Grandmaster. After all, in all of those conduct never once did Sir Lohen felt anxious about it. Never affected by what others may perceive.
Most people would probably feel insulted. I mean, he's being treated as if he's a weakling. It could hurt his ego a little. Well…maybe it did. That pouting face was a violation to my heart! So cute! He's sulking like a child! Ahh, this reminds me of the children back at home. I can't wait for this expedition to be over. I missed them so.

The Grandmaster often took breaks whenever he could. Sometimes he tried to ease his hungover away. At times he's just lazy. Every time that he did, us knights never had the luck to find him. It's as if he turned invisible. We're playing hide-and-seek with a grown adult, be for real. None of us paid enough for this.
It just so happened that I was assigned to look for him that fateful day. I was just searching on one corner of the keep until Sir Lohen came back. Surprisingly, he offered to help. Still bloodied, still ragged from all the fights, still smiling. I couldn't see it as a courteous one. It only looked sinister to me. I can't just tell him I was pretending to look for him and then take a break myself. Not when he's looking like that! I'll be beheaded!
…I accepted the offer. What can I do about it, really? I resigned my fate into his hand. Well, I'd like to see how he did it too. None of us could find him. How could he?
To be honest, I should have just keep my mouth shut. He actually able to find Grandmaster Varka. Without any clue, no hint. Do you know how he found him? He smelled. He sniffed. He literally used his nose like a dog to track him. I couldn't fathom how was that even plausible. The fact that it worked was what made me lose it. I thought Grandmaster Varka was the one associated with the wolves more, he practically grew up with them. So why was Sir Lohen had a more sensitive smell?! Is that how he can hunt effectively? That's just wrong!
And instead of waking the Grandmaster up, he joined him. Like, sitting on his lap and dozed off. Not even minding me standing here watching. Not even asking me why I was looking for the Grandmaster in the first place. I'm completely invisible in his eyes. I'm…kinda hurt. But I'm not gonna lie, that did looked comfortable. I'd join if there's more space. Unfortunately, I couldn't. I'm not brave enough. That's basically two wolves and I'm just a stray cat. I'd be tear apart.
I only shook my head. Our leaders were all weird. But…well…I guess they deserved the rest. It's been tiring with new rifts keep opening up. I guess I shouldn't mind too much.

Tonight we're celebrating a liberation. The Honorary Knight will soon arrive in Nod Krai. Our struggle will be lighter, our battle will be easier. Their presence has always been uplifting. Wherever they are, even if crisis were to follow, they've always been able to solve it with grace. The peaceful days will come soon. And for that, it's time to enjoy some beer!
Man, that night was exciting. We emptied about 10 barrel, I think. Even I broke my record of 13 mug shot and drank up 15 last night! Wow! I've never felt more relaxed than any other day. This was truly a celebration. I don't regret getting a hungover in the morning. Honestly, I can't wait to meet the Honorary Knight. Maybe I can even ask them for an autograph?
But…Something doesn't feel right though. Oh yeah, Sir Lohen isn't here. I didn't see him in today's morning roundup. Is he out on another 'hunt'? Well, it's not like he's much of a drinker. So he's probably sober.
I mean, I saw it last night. Or maybe not? I'm not confident though. Maybe I just hallucinated since I'm wasted? But I definitely know what I saw.
Sir Lohen was just sitting at the edge of the bonfire with Grandmaster by his side. They weren't downing it crazy like us. They were just sitting and chatting. Their beer didn't even budge by a sip. It's a waste to see it untouchable. Let me had it then, Grandmaster. Sir Lohen. I'd drink it on your behalf! …well, maybe not. This headache is killing me. I guess breaking the record wasn't that much of a good thing.
I saw them talking with each other. They didn't pay any attention to us. I mean, we were being a bit wild out there. So I understand why they wouldn't get involve. I couldn't hear what they were talking about, couldn't read their lips either, but they looked serious. And then, they got closer. I swear, if I'm wrong I'm definitely going to get my eyes checked, and I pray I don't get smithen, but I saw them kissing. Just. like. that. And then I got dumped with beer all over. And I blackout. Yeah. Don't know what's that about.
But I guess it's important enough to make the Grandmaster uneasy. The morning after, while I'm writing this, he looks incredibly anxious. He informed us that Sir Lohen won't be with us anymore here on out because he was sent back home on a more vital task. I wonder what it was. I mean, if it shook our Grandmaster this much, It must be pretty alarming. I guess even with the Honorary Knight coming we can't be lenient. Just when I thought I could take it easy.
Well, it's not like we can't take it. Bring it on, you Abyssal scum! Show us what you got!
