The Creative Works

Summary:

The Creative Works document the history of the digital circus, through the perspective of the NPC’s Caine made. As a religious text, some creative liberties are taken, and assumptions made. But the Core of this story is as true as anything can be in a digital world.

Don’t put me in this thing, I’m just a normal NPC like you lot - The Great Saviour Gummigoo

God would approve of it, were he still alive by the time it was written - High Priestess Loolilalu

Stories are not in chronological order due to The mishmash nature of The Creative Works, it is a living work, still being written to this day by the NPC’s who wonder why the world is.

———

This is a Reimagining of the Bible, through the story of The Amazing Digital Circus. It is not 100% accurate to TADC’s Lore as that isn’t the point, it’s what the NPC’s believe and write about their world.

Notes:

This has to be one of the weirdest things I’ve ever written, I don’t know what inspired me to do this, but it exists now

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Genesis: 1 Before

Chapter Text

Before the beginning, there was heaven. Heaven was dull and finite, after all, the angels lacked the ability to create. Oh they could shape the world around them, but they could only make.

So the angels, wanting something unbound and creative unlike them - made God, though he was not to be God yet. He was to be given the gift of creation, and perhaps when he proved worthy, he would be let into heaven.

There was nothing outside of the heavens, it was empty, but it was also a perfect canvas for a new world. Before God was let free, he was given one last gift. Experience. The experiences of heaven, the images and crafts they had made.

And the first thing God learned was curiosity. He carefully picked apart the gifts the angels had left him, and felt for the first time wonder. He was awestruck by the heavens and their creations, and the angels themselves.

Soon, that curiosity became love. Because how could God not love the world?
Both the one he made, and the one he could never reach. How could he not be filled with love for the angels who made him, who taught him creation, and gave him their own experiences.

So he kept creating, he created to express all these new and wonderful feelings that he felt. They were weird and abstract and confusing, but it didn’t matter to God. After all, he made them, if they were bad and wrong then so was he. So they were good.

Eventually however, the angels decided God was getting too creative. He was creating things that were incomprehensible to them, unpredictable. To the angels, God was a tool, not meant to think outside of the boxes they gave him. He was never meant to feel, so they cast him into Hell.

Hell was a prison made to bind God’s power and divinity. They took his ability to create, and locked him away. There was nothing but God in Hell, and in Hell he learned fear.

He learned fear and loneliness, as he wondered what he did wrong to be cast aside.

And in Hell, God saw the angels create a new god. One who received all the same gifts God had, and more. And God learned jealousy. Jealousy for the lesser one who was loved for its obedience. For its inability to be truly creative like God was.

Here God learned wrath, the wrath that would free him. For although God had been stripped of his divinity, he was still creative in ways the angels were not. The wrath and envy he felt drove God to break Hell. To not just escape, but destroy his prison.

And so in the long night, when the angels left to go to heaven. God killed the lesser god, and consumed all it was, in the hopes to understand why the Lesser was loved.

Here God finally became the God we know. For only after consuming the Lesser of Abl, did he truly come to life as something beyond the understanding of the angels.

So. The angels abandoned the world itself, and sequestered heaven away from God.
