From the moment he'd woken up in that pristine white bed, surrounded by scientists and other children of the like, Zeno's eternal dream had always been to be a man.
Not THE man, and certainly not THAT man, but simply…a man. An organism allowed to feed itself as it saw fit, sleep when it grew tired, and behave as its instincts ordered it to. Nothing necessarily special, nothing chosen, and nothing predestined for whatever life his…his creators had in mind.
Unfortunately, it seems no one really agrees. Poor thing. Hard lives inevitably produce sick men, and who better to fix a sick man than a doctor?
