    All Mike wanted to do in the summer of 1886 was spend it with Will. With the boy who lit up his life with his smile. The late-night sessions in his basement, where Will would sketch in the light of a lamp while Mike tuned his walkie-talkie, were all he wanted. So when Karen, after spending the day chatting with his aunt, suddenly announced that he was going to camp for a month, Mike wasn't thrilled. Before the summer had even begun, he was handed his tickets and told to pack his backpack. Holly, who was also going, ran off to show off to Nancy, and Tadd looked at him, waiting for him to thank him, but all Mike could think about was leaving his friends and Will behind.
