"Hydro Dragon, Hydro Dragon, Don't Cry."

Notes:

HELLO!
This is my first ever fanfic, and I wrote this on a whim during class because I'm weird like that. On another note, I wrote this about LAST YEAR (late 2025) and I'm absolutely sure now I will add more chapters.
Oh, and please know this was HEAVILY inspired by another fic, but only the first chapter and future chapters are going to be ENTIRELY my idea. (I hope)
Now, I'll shut up and I hope you enjoy reading, reader!

Work Text:

Wriothesley had known for awhile that Neuvillette wasn't exactly human.
It was obvious after all; at 15 he was sentenced to prison for the same amount of years as is age, by none other than Chief Justice Neuvillette — and looking the same exact way after 15 years isn't a human trait. But, Wriothesley never expected to actually find out, let alone on a random rainy Wednesday. Though, the day didn't end that badly.. (yaoi.)

As Wriothesley walked on the rainy and empty streets of the Court of Fontaine, he noticed a figure in the distance, and of course, as fate had it, it was none other than Neuvillette.
He squinted his eyes to confirm what he was seeing; Neuvillette standing alone in the middle of the streets as it rained, seemingly lost in thought. He seemed down, Wriothesley thought, so he quietly walked over. As Neuvillette looked up at the sky, he was snapped out of his thoughts as an umbrella suddenly covered the view. He turned around and saw Wriothesley standing there, holding an umbrella over his and Neuvillette's head.
"Wriothesley..?" Neuvillette asked softly, which sent a shiver down Wriothesley's spine — that voice had always made him question himself. "You'll get sick out here." He said to Wriothesley.
"Says the one standing out here in the rain getting soaked." Neuvillette's expression flickered with surprise for a moment. "I suppose you're right." Neuvillette replied, right as lightning struck nearby. Neither of them flinched as they just looked at each other for a moment. "Err, maybe we should head inside?" He said, jerking his head slightly to the building. "Let us wait inside my office, it's just-" Wriothesley interrupted him before he could finish. "-in Palais Mermonia? Yeah, I've been there enough times to hand over paperwork." (Sure buddy.) Neuvillette felt a slight smile on his facem but quickly hid it. "Yes, let us go."

—————

Wriothesley sat by the the table on a chair, which was placed across of the couch. Neuvillette got a small towel and dried off his long white hair, while Wriothesley looked around. "Are you sure you're alright?.. You seemed... distracted, to say he least.:" Neuvillette paused, and sighed as he sat down on the couch across Wriothesley. "I'm somewhat fine, I suppose." Wriothesley watched Neuvillette carefully as he put the towel away, but still not convinced. "Are you sure?"
Those words, spoken so sincere, coming from him. Neuvillette closed his eyes for a moment and exhaled, without even realizing he was crying.

"I- Neuvillette?"
...
"Hydro Dragon, Hydro Dragon, don't cry."
Neuvillette visibly flinched and snapped his eyes open to look at Wriothesley. "How did you?.." Wriothesley sighed as he responded. "I didn't, but I had some suspicions." Neuvillette paused, before he closed his eyes as he felt more tears fall. — Wriothesley stood up, walked over to Neuvillette, and wrpped his arms around him. Neuvillette let Wriothesley hold him, and buried his face in Wriothesley's neck, letting the tears fall for the first time in 500 years.
After Neuvillette calmed down, Wriothesley let go. "You can talk to me, you know? You always could." Neuvillette knew, but Neuvillette would be the last person to admit it; not wanting to burden Wriothesley with his problems. Wriothesley waited for Neuvillette to speak, and he was disappointed when he only heard — "I suppose... I owe you now, Wriothesley." Wriothesley sighed, until an idea came into his mind.

"Kiss me."
