Oh, he looked so beautiful right now. Multi almost wished he could also see himself like that.
His soft, often so kind eyes were stuck in one spot, now lifeless and dead. The scientist's fingers travelled down his cold cheek, wiping off the streak of blood in the corner of his mouth.
Quackity died approximately four hours ago, the most likely cause was choking, maybe blood loss. His body was cold, almost colourless, even his golden feathers were lacking their usual gleam. Multi just stared, kneeling right next to the body. His mind was trying to process the information, the single possibility that Quackity was gone.
There were many things laying around him; syringes, scalpels that fell when he kicked a shelf off, alongside with bright yellow sunflower petals and blood. A lot of blood.
Most of it was covering the flowers around them, especially the biggest one, still stuck in Quackity's mouth. The scientist couldn't take it out, which meant it somehow grew out from the inside.
The irony, sunflowers were supposed to bring happiness. For the past few weeks, the only thing they brought was pain. He knew something was up, he knew Quackity was hiding something.. Maybe if only he asked like a normal person would, if he confessed his true feelings—..
His hand dropped down to one of the sunflowers, gently caressing blood-stained petals between his fingers. Nothing of It mattered now. He couldn't fix his past mistakes, he could only move forward and learn. Learn, that there was no place for weakness.
It's a shame," Multi spoke, voice cold as he leaned over the lifeless body. "That you won't see the greatness I will bring into this world."
He pressed his lips against the sunflower, the first and last time they 'kissed', before finally closing his eyes.
"I'll do great things, Quackity. For you." He threw his promise into an empty room and walked away.
