Summary
Robin Arellano was a fighter.
He never stepped down, always ready to protect himself and the people he cared about. Every fight was a testament to his strength.
That was, until he and Finney were taken by The Grabber.
In the early days of their captivity, Robin maintained his physical and mental strength, refusing to let their kidnapper get one over on him. He took every punishment like it was nothing, always ready for the next opportunity to catch The Grabber off guard to try to fight their way out and protect Finney. However, as the days went on and desperation set in, Robin faltered. He froze when it counted most, leaving Finney to fight their way out and save both of their lives.
Now that they were free, Robin didn’t recognize himself. He was no longer the strong person he’d taken pride in; he was a shell of himself, the sustained injuries constant reminders of his shortcomings.
Robin hoped time would heal his wounds and that he could become the person he once was. But, if time was meant to heal all wounds, then why was The Grabber still present in their nightmares and why was Finney convinced that the phones were still ringing?

This shouldn't have happened. All of this was his fault. Now Yelena and the team are going to hate him. Valentina is going to be mad. Bucky is going to kill him. Well, he would if he could. Why was he so stupid?
In the middle of his mental crisis he heard a cough. He looked up and Sam Wilson was in front of him, the Captain America suit making him even more intimidating. His arms crossed and a frown on his face. Bob’s own face must have shown how nervous he was already because Sam’s expression softened just a bit, but he still looked serious.
“Now, Bob,“ he said the name as if it sounded wrong considering what he was capable of doing, and he didn't blame him. “Mind to explain what was that?” He nodded towards the TV and Bob made himself even smaller when he saw the title on the news channel. There, with red capital letters said:
“THE FALCON AND… BOB, NEW ROMANCE?”
And under that title, others with more questions and comments.
“CAPTAIN AMERICA’S SIDEKICK BETRAYAL”
“NEW AVENGERS’ SECRETARY SEEN FLYING, WHAT ARE THEY HIDING?”
“ROMEO AND JOAQUIN? THE FALCON AND BOB’S TRAGIC LOVE STORY”
