Summary
Six months after their wedding on the Amalfi Coast, Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles are learning what comes after survival.
The war is behind them. The vows have been spoken. The house is warm, the family is louder than ever, and for the first time in years, life is not only about making it through the next crisis.
But peace is not the same thing as simplicity.
As Jane settles into her role with the FBI Hostage Rescue Team and Maura continues leading trauma at Mass General, the life they built together begins asking new questions. What does marriage look like after years of loss? How do two women trained to run toward disaster learn to stay still long enough to dream? And what happens when the future they want—a child, a family, a life beyond the battlefield—starts to feel close enough to touch?
Book II of The Anatomy of Courage follows Jane and Maura through the fragile, beautiful, complicated space between what they survived and what they are brave enough to build next.
