Summary
The Creaking King is defeated. The war is postponed for another day. The cycle will continue as it always has, but not with the same people.
There's rumours of an island that stands among a ship graveyard in the seas, haunted not by ghosts but by memories that it shouldn't know, that it had never bore witness to. The tales of this island roam with those who survived their visits, who didn't succumb to the hopelessness and the horrors, the re-tellings of their trauma by this empty place hidden in fog. The stories are varied, with none of them even certain that theirs is the truth, and ultimately useless for avoiding or escaping the nightmare.
Nom, Mae, and Scott want out of Bannerfall's cycle of violence, and are given a warning by Graecie; you'll know the island before you reach it, do your best to avoid it. They do not do their best to avoid it.

There are more characters than are tagged but they disappear after chapter 4 and only Graecie is important for the plot.
