Chapter Text
Three poles, back to back. Three poles, all converted to his only wins.
Kimi was already having his records compared to those of the likes of Mika Häkkinen and Michael Schumacher, ignoring the fact that he was also regularly compared to Ayrton Senna.
The first teenager to lead the WDC.
Those titles felt like they came too early for Kimi, but he handled it perfectly. And his pack were not afraid to show it to him. Like any of the '26 races so far, the Miami GP had been a bit of a shitshow. Max's car spinning as soon as it started, Isack's car clipping and sliding into the barriers, Pierre's car flipping because of contact with Liam, George being on the wrong strategy, and Charles spinning in the last lap.
But none of that mattered right now, because Kimi had won. For the third time, ever.
All the other drivers had come up to him after the race, shaking his hand, hugging him, congratulating him on the win. And Kimi felt like he was on cloud nine. Seeing Oscar get attacked by the streamers was also a delight.
As soon as his media obligations were over, he ran into the pack room, and straight into George's nest. He knew George's car was having problems, that it wasn't performing to the same standard as his own car, but George had still done so, so well.
"Hi." Kimi said, grinning, as he curled up beside George, who ran his hands through Kimi's curls, smiling. "Hi, pup. You did so well today, really well."
"You did good today too. If you had the right strategy, you would be higher." He insisted, and George just smiled, a little rueful, rubbing his wrist along Kimi's neck, leaving his scent on the pup. "Thank you, Kimi." He said, and that was that.
Alex appeared behind the both of them, tucking himself in behind George. "He's right, George, you'd be higher if, you know, your car was working properly. And you didn't have to drag around a broken front wing." Kimi, sensing George and Alex were having a moment, excused himself from the nest, immediately being pulled by Max into Charles' nest. "You have been doing very well, Kimi. Don't worry about George, focus on your race starts so you don't drop positions at the beginning." Max insisted, tucking Kimi against his chest.
Now that the Alpha's car was no longer a pain to drag, Max was having a much better time, his scent far calmer than it had been in a while.
Of course, he was disappointed with his finish, but considering the race, it had been very good. Similarly, Charles took up Kimi's other side, rubbing his scent on Kimi's neck along with George's scent. "Believe us, Kimi. You are the face of next generation of racing." The omega said, smiling.
Kimi let himself soak in their comforting embrace for a bit, before he felt a sudden weight on top of him.
Ollie had climbed into the nest, wedging himself half over Charles and half over Kimi. "Kimi! You did it! Oh my god! You're brilliant!" He cheered, and Kimi laughed loudly, letting Ollie hug him, wrapping himself around the taller omega. "Thank you, thank you!" Kimi giggled back, grinning just as wide, now flat on his back with all 6 feet of Ollie on top of him.
Max pointedly coughed, and Charles shot him a look back, rolling his eyes. Max shut his mouth, looking away and-
Whatever. Kimi did not want to analyse that. Max and Charles and their stupid, weird, secret language and communication without words was not something he was jealous of and it was not something he wanted to be a part of, and being with them during quali this weekend was not one of his biggest dreams (because, after all, he was a Verstappie at heart, and every Italian is at least a little endeared to Charles).
Ollie completely ignored them, focused entirely on squishing Kimi with the force of his happiness. "You are killing me, I think." Kimi said, voice strained, and Ollie immediately got up, standing in the nest. "Oh, no, sorry, are you okay?"
He smiled, sitting up, and rubbed at his neck, where his choker (which had once been a necklace) had begun digging into his skin. "I am okay, no need to worry, you are just...too strong." Ollie laughed again, running his hands through his hair, before pausing, just...smiling at Kimi, and Kimi smiled back.
He could melt into those eyes, like pools of chocolate, drawing him in and never letting go of him and-
"So, Kimi, planning on doing some underaged drinking?" Lando asked, appearing from nowhere, sitting cross-legged outside the nest. Kimi broke his staring match with Ollie, turning around to look at Lando, confused. "I am an adult...?"
The beta rolled his eyes, and Oscar (who was at Lando's side), helpfully added, "the legal age in America is 21."
Oh.
That would certainly put a dampener in his celebration plans. He'd been planning a repeat of China and Japan, getting absolutely drunk, but stupid America and its drinking age. I mean, really, if he was in Germany, he could have beer at 14. But no, he can drive a car at 300kph, but he can't drink alcohol.
"Ah...can I go back to Italy now?" Kimi asked, flopping back onto the nest, on his back, causing Max to laugh. "Kimi, there is more to life than partying." He teased, and Kimi rolled over, facing away from Max. "It is my third win! I want to celebrate!" He protested, and Ollie laughed.
"It's okay, we can go to Disneyland instead. It might be more age-appropriate. That's basically in Miami, isn't it?" He teased, and Kimi buried his face in Charles' leg as some sort of complaint to that remark. "You are barely older than me." He argued, and Charles rested his hand on Kimi's head. "It is okay. I don't think anyone would notice if we slipped you a bit during a party."
Kimi brightened up, hugging Charles. "You are my favourite, Charles." Charles similarly brightened up, his scent sweetening as he puffed his chest with pride, grinning at Max. "I have stolen your pup, and I will not be giving him back."
Max immediately started protesting - both to the bit about Kimi being his kid, and about Charles keeping him.
Unfortunately, Lewis popped up at that moment, ruffling Max's hair. "Does this mean I can officially add you to the grid dads group?" Max grumbled even more, but didn't protest, flattening his hair down. "Yeah, yeah, very funny...just remember, I am your Pack Alpha..." He grumbled, though he didn't mean anything by it.
Lewis shook his head, smiling at Max. Charles insistently pointed at the space beside Max with his chin, and Lewis got the hint eventually, curling up against Max's free side.
Kimi was in heaven. He was between Charles and Max, Ollie was with him, and so was Lewis. Now, if he could find some way to drag Gabi and George into the nest...oh well. That was a thought for later. Right now, he'd enjoy some cuddling time. And later, convince Charles to sneak him some alcohol. Maybe even a vodka Redbull.
Charles, as if he could telepathically tell what Kimi was thinking, gently shook his head.
He was not going to jail for helping a minor (a 19 year old, currently leading the WDC) drink underaged (21), thank you very much. He'd merely been making a joke.
"We can celebrate properly once we get home. Canada isn't till three weeks or so." Charles reminded, and Kimi nodded, pressing closer to him. The omega eventually relaxed his legs enough that Kimi could keep his head on Charles' thighs, Max at his back.
The feeling of being warm and content, surrounded by pack, especially after a win was like nothing else. It was a feeling of belonging, of knowing you were doing the thing you loved with people that have become very important to you.
