Lapis had just woken up on the floor from her 12 hour sleep ,but there was something off. It wasn't that she's on the floor,no.
Lapis room is the mix of messy and organized. And, when she woke up on the floor she was Infront of her full body mirror. And what she saw is that her hair dye is fading.
It was obvious at the hints of brown hair on her scalp.
But lapis wondered, 'do I even have any dye left...?' she went to the shared bathroom with her (cute)roommate and scavenged her section of the drawer '...there's no dye left, I should really consider permanent blue hair' good thing that her roommate is not awaken yet, due to her staying up all night.
' seriously, how does that girl stay awake? I can't even sleep past 8 and she wakes up at 7 for school which is a full 12 hour sleep' but in the midst of that thought she detects the sounds of ruffling.
"Laz- uh...lapis? What are you doing? It's a Sunday you normally..." The girl paused and rubbed her eyes as she yawned, after that the blonde continues "normally wouldn't wake up until the afternoon in a Sunday..." she wiped her glasses so she could finally see.
Peridots room bed IS way closer to the bathroom so ofcourse she heard the loud noises lapis was probably emitting
lapis, acts normal,her usual self "it's nothing, a monster just ate all my hair dye".
"...what?" as peridots eyes finally cleared up she sees...brown, it took her a second for her to realized "WHAT!, I thought your blue hair was permanent!"
Peridot was standing up, with her blanket draped over her shoulders like a cape and when she yelled it accidentally her cape blanket dipped to the floor
lapis wasn't expecting that honestly she thought everyone knew her blue hair isn't permanent "well...it isn't, could you go and buy me blue dye? I...uh, don't want people seeing my hair like this" she asked nervously, her hand rubbing her nape.
Peridot,seemed to be lost in thought. Quickly regained conscious and blushed of embarrassment at the delay of response "uh...AH! erh--YES!..."
They both stood in awkwardness but for lapis it wasn't exactly awkward more like funny so she chuckled a little, "anyways, I could give you money for the dye since I owe it to ya, nerd. And besides, i usually buy 2 sets so it lasts longer and that's like 80 something dollars"
"Oh, uh, you don't have too" peridot quickly responded, not really getting why lapis wants to pay when she has her own money
Lapis paused "you are literally buying it FOR me, ofcourse you have to use my money. where would you even get the money, you don't have a job unlike me who works in a nearby cafe remember?" she argued.
Peridot just standing, speaks "uh...80 dollar something ain't that expensive, besides both my parents are lawyers" she casually says so.
"What" was all lapis could say. peridot,confused on the sudden change of mood just says "er...I'm just gonna get dressed so I could buy the dye for ya" leaving lapis view.

Lapis lied in her bed, thinking.
'...maybe should've seen the incoming of the lawyer parents, peridot is smart. But yeah should've seen it. Cause where would have she gotten all of those expensive tech stuff for her side projects, those are like thousands of dollars and she does it for fun, seriously, how stupid could I b-' her thought quickly got cut off by the sound of a certain roommates Voice.
"LAPIS! I'm back!" Peridot yelled as she takes her shoes off,since well lapis is Asian and once---Calmly--- crashed out when peridot didn't take her shoes off. seriously, she was cursing out peridot in Tagalog.
Therefore,after that she never NEVER walks with shoes on in their room.
Not a fun experience, but it was kinda fascinating on how naturally lapis seemed to talk using Tagalog, it was... something the blonde is not gonna word out she found admirable.
Lapis quickly got up from her bed and went to greet peridot "hey there, good thing you're back. I missed your squeaky voice, nerd" she said it in a sarcastic voice but honestly it was true.
"Hey, no judging voices," peridot said with a frown but honestly it was just their teasing.
Lapis replied with a "honestly, I was just sooooo bored without you" and peridot smiled "ohhh, I bet you were"
and after that they both stood for a second before they both started giggling.
Lapis paused...and looked at peridots the way she laughed,how her smile looks so cute.
"Nerd" lapis smiled and looked at peridots green eyes.
Peridot,heard that and clapped back "walking color" peridot stared back at lapis's blue eyes.
it stayed like that, mesmerized, but lapis quickly realized she had unconsciously started staring at the shorter girls lips.
Lapis, panicking on the realization said "uhh, anyways the dye..?" Quickly looking away hiding her tinted cheeks with her forearm.
"Oh, uh yeah...here" she said as she gave the bag to lapis.
Lapis suddenly had a bulb light up Infront of her head and peridot saw that clearly, as lapis smirked"heeyyy, Soo ever thought of dyeing someone's hair?"
And peridot responded with a grin "though you would never ask"

They both were not in the bathroom preparing to dye lapis hair, well, more like peridot dyes the taller girls hair as lapis had requested.
They both sat on two mini chairs next to the bathtub, peridots chair was taller than lapis so she could focus on lapis hair.
But peridot got lost in thought "I never knew your natural hair color is brown..." She mumbled quietly as lapis heard that her ears got tinted red from peridots view
"I started dyeing my hair in middle school, I wanted to try something new and I guess it stuck with me since I'm now a high schooler" she replied quiet anxiously.
Peridot still lost in her thoughts said "you look good with both hair colors" and lapis frozed,realizing something
"Are you imagining me with full brown hair?" She asked, and peridot got out of her thoughts and flushed "ah,erh, um...ehh...no...m-mayhe...yyeaaah I was" like a criminal caught in the middle of a crime
But lapis didn't teased her as the short gal expected, no, lapis stayed quiet
Ah,dammit, I probably creeped her out' peridot thought embarrassed of herself.
"Dammit,she's so adorable" lapis thought, flustered of the thought of peridot 'dammmittt, maybe I could try brunette hair so she could see...yeah" she covered her flushed face with her hands even tho peridot can't see her since she's sitting behind.
"A-anways, we should get started" the shorter gal said stuttering abit.
lapis still quiet, mumbled a quick yeah which peridot got.
Peridot--secretly---started admiring quietly on how beautiful lapis's hair is.
after a little while and they were waiting for lapis's hair to dry and peridot was no longer facing lapis's back, but they were at each other's front,
peridot spoke "y'know, I...admire your hair. it's wavy like the ocean"
The taller one paused at that ..."didn't think you would be the type to comment on someone's hair"
But peridot continued" considering you used to be in the swimming team and how the ocean is colored as blue--even tho it's not it's transparent but seen as blue by the human eye--- and how blue is your favorite color"
Lapis tensed at the mention of the swimming team and the ocean she isn't really good with it ever since the incident with...uhm...her ex
Peridot quickly got ahold of the reaction "oh, uh sorry I know you aren't good with mentions of the ocean" and lapis was quiet.
"Don't be" she said, with a monotone voice.
Peridot thought for a second before speaking "are you...ever gonna be cool with the ocean and swimming again? It was your hobby back then, you really loved it. well that's what I heard from others. I wasn't your...roommate back then" she was pausing before she continued "we...we are friends right?" She asked nervously.
Lapis was thinking about the first question "...I...don't know, I really liked the water back then, it helped me calm down and just chill, I don't really know what to feel about it. You don't exactly know what happened with...y'know who"
She got done speaking but then she quickly spoke again and answered"Yes...yes, we are friends, you're...my...best friend out there" she was nervous on actually saying it out loud, she can say it in her mind pretty easily but I guess her mouth isn't used to that.
Peridot seemed to brightened up when lapis said of her thinking of them as best friends but another question popped into peridots mind
"Why not you just permanently dye your hair blue? Y'know so you won't have to keep doing it" she asked curiously
But all the taller one could say was "I WAS thinking of dyeing it permanently blue, but...I guess I'd..." She paused and hid her face as she continued "I guess I'd like to see your reaction to my brunette hair someday
Peridot(s blind ass) didn't notice lapis red tinted ears.
Peridot then responded "yeah ...I would like to see you with your natural hair color" she smiled and lapis looking at that cute smile looked at the floor blushing more

Later that night, peridot lied in bed, as she looked at her left leg, well more like left prosthetic leg.
Maybe one day she could tell lapis that she's actually an amputee and that was the reason she wears so much baggy clothes.
It's just that, it was jaspers fault she's an amputee, but then again she's empathetic, she can't bring herself to blame jasper.
Besides jasper is a trigger word for lapis, she cares about lapis.
(What peridot doesn't realized is that she's caring about other peoples feelings more than hers)
But in lapis pov she's touching her newly dyed hair, thinking of a certain cute blonde shortie
