Work Text:

Golden beams, thick with dust motes dancing in the air, poured over the windowsill. The brunette groaned, pulling the duvet over his head, but the light was persistent, turning the blanket into a warm, glowing shroud. The room was already filled with a bright, soft glow, promising a lazy, unhurried morning.

Getting up slowly, he felt around for his husband. Only getting empty space, the warmth signifying that it hasn’t been that much time since he got up. The unmistakable aroma of freshly ground coffee wafted into the room along with another all too familiar fragrance of chamomile with a tiny hint of honey.

Nakamura was in the kitchen, patiently waiting for the tea to brew, when a pair of warm arms encircled his midsection, and a weight fell on his back. He smiled. Hirose has woken up. Turning around, he cupped his beloved’s face and showered kisses all over. Hirose giggled, still in a sleepy daze. He puckered up his lips for Nakamura. Soon enough, a warm pair of lips fell on his, moving slowly, before both their mouths opened to give way to their tongues.

The tea kettle went off, surprising them both apart. Nakamura turned off the gas as Hirose nuzzled into his neck, mumbling, “You smell like toothpaste.”

Nakamura huffed a laugh and gently squeezed Hirose’s face, “And you smell like morning breath. Go wash up, my dear.” Hirose did so, reluctantly extracting himself away from Nakamura’s warmth.

After a quick brush of teeth and splashing water on the face enough times, Hirose hurried back to the dining table. Plopping down, his eyes sparkled, and his mouth watered as he looked down at the pancakes Nakamura had cooked up. Nakamura smiled at his lover’s excitement. Both of them said a quick ‘itadakamisu’ before starting to eat.

The cool breeze from the balcony felt like a gentle caress, pushing away the stagnant heat of the apartment. Hirose ate slowly, while Nakamura browsed the newspaper. Once he finished, he cleaned up both Hirose’s and his own plates.

Hirose turned on the TV while Nakamura started washing the dishes. Hirose has noticed a lot of quirks once he married Nakamura; this being one of them, he can’t let dishes remain unclean in the sink. Once they are done eating, he immediately washes them so they look nice and shiny again.

Nakamura settled beside him in a few moments. Hirose was watching a random flick. Both of them were still in their nightwear. Nakamura started reading the latest volume of his BL manga when-

“Hey, want to rewatch the Chainsaw Man movie?”

Nakamura shrugged and agreed.

They pulled the curtains to create a dark atmosphere, perfect for watching a movie. The movie started, and both of them focused on it.

To be honest, when Hirose proposed this, his actual goal was to see Nakamura’s reactions. He always loved studying Nakamura when he thought the other wasn't paying attention to him. His husband has really matured a lot, not only in size (ahem!) but also emotionally.

He studied Nakamura’s expressions from his peripheral vision, the gradual changes from indifference to interest to realization, then worry, made Hirose want to kiss him so hard. When the Reze and Denji’s pool scene came by, Hirose couldn’t hold himself back anymore.

Getting on Nakamura’s lap (whose hands automatically encircled his waist), he whispered, “Want to shower with me, Okuto-kun?”

Saying his name worked beautifully as always; Nakamura's face reddened so much it would be hard to tell the difference between him and a tomato. Hirose took the chance to pepper kisses all over his face. Nakamura stood up, carrying him easily, and power walked into the bathroom with Hirose giggling the entire time.

After an hour or so, both of them came out wearing their home clothes and flopped onto the sofa. Hirose slyly glanced at Nakamura before holding his hips and mumbling a soft ‘oww’. Immediately alert, the latter looked at him, “Was I too rough, Aiki-kun?”

Hirose giggled and climbed onto his husband’s lap again, “Not at all, I just wanted your attention.” Nakamura sighed, fondness and exasperation obvious before he pulled him closer, cuddling up to each other until there wasn’t even the barest space left between them.

Hirose closed his eyes, feeling the tranquility of the day etched into his very bones. This shared warmth and comfort. He smiled into Nakamura’s shirt. Seriously, he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Notes:

I wanted to add a scene where Nakamura fanboys about his BL mangas to Hirose, but I got too impatient.
