One Number Away
Eddie stares down at his phone, Buck's contact smiling up at him.
But he's tired. So tired.
Exhausted and drained by the voices in his head that are screaming and pleading for him to run into Buck's open arms, to cry and kiss and love that man in every way that he should.
Eddie had tried for weeks to tell himself this wasn't real. That this wasn't something that he couldn't go through with.
Not Buck. Anybody but Buck.
Eddie has screwed up too many relationships up in his life. He cannot lose Buck.
And yet, there's a tight feeling in his chest every time he looks at him, every time Buck smiles his way. There's a warm sense of relief every time he bites into one of his pastries. There's an overwhelming sense of joy whenever Buck makes him laugh so hard he cries.
Its too much to ignore.
With a shaking hand, Eddie clicks the dial button and brings the phone up to his ear.
Ring. Ring. Ri-
"Hello?"
Eddie melts into a smile and leans back against the couch. He takes a deep breath in, on the verge of tears.
"I love you."
