    Johnny’s hand uncurled from his coffee cup and reached across the table, fingers wrapping around Ghost’s palm.
     
    ‘You look good in black,’ he said.
     
    Ghost wrenched his hand away. Something flashed across Johnny’s face. An expression he couldn’t parse, before it was replaced by a carefully neutral mask. He went back to his breakfast and Ghost picked up his tea.
     
    ‘I’m not your boyfriend,’ said Ghost quietly.

    Now Johnny’s trainer Ghost works him through a punishing routine, preparing him for fights. They’re also something more. Something he refuses to name. Something he refuses to think about.

    But the past is back to haunt Ghost, and he soon realises he can’t out run it, all he can do is try to fight it.
